If I had to describe the exterior of this bungalow, one word I would not use is 'lovely'
The street view which I cannot find the actual property reminds me of my FE college,- but with garages. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Pros:
1) Those exterior brick-effect panels look realistic.
2) Erm....?0 -

picture 6 - i suppose it would make a great little gazebo
I'm still trying to get my head round a builder having the nerve/greed to build a house on a piece of land with one of those already in situ:huh:. Forced to choose between homelessness or living in that house, I cant quite understand why the occupant of house wouldn't have their temper get the better of them at some point and that would be the pylon duly hidden as best as possible with greenery growing up.
EDIT: Pylon must have been there first. No-one would even think of doing that to a home-owner would they? (NB: If they have, can we see a photo of their plot in the local graveyard?).0 -

Builders build where they can sell and make a profit and some people would rather have a pylon than a busy road.
When it comes to deciding where pylons go, or telegraph poles, the companies will negotiate wayleaves with the landowner and may discuss siting, but ultimately, they have the power to stick them where they choose if suitable alternatives are impractical.
I was reminded of this in negotiations with BT last year; a difficult thing in itself, but most surveyors are human too and we eventually reached a compromise position agreeable to both of us.
And the wayleave cheque for the small power lines is a nice bonus when it arrives each year, especially as I can't see them from the house/garden.
Let's face it, we'd be stuffed without them.0 -

Truly awful!
Looking at the name, could it be a retirement complex for disaffected vegetarians?0
