I cannot remember which M1 junction it is - its 30-something and on the sliproad going north to get off it, there are some bungalows backing on to this road. Many of them have conservatories. Why would you build one looking over the motorway?

At a guess, because roads (even at motorway level) don't bother you because you're a regular car driver?

Not sure if this has been posted before, someone has taken the idea from this thread and made it in to a book

Wonders how much lower the price of that house is compared to similar nearby ones to allow for The Thing?

Not to mention this place less than half a mile away. I take dangerous goods trains in and out of there. I can't find a decent pic, but it's a bit of an eyesore.
