Can you guess that I hate those type of blinds and one of the first things I did was remove them from the house I just bought?:rotfl:
Think overall it probably is an older owner and therefore chances are there's a fair size amount of old-fashioned workmanship in that house needing updating.
I hate them too, but whilst our neighbours at our previous house had them and were an older couple (in their late sixties), I've personally never associated them with *older* people, but thought they make houses look too much like offices. They have a very *harsh* appearance imho........hate nets too and if privacy/shade is required I'd prefer roman blindsMortgage-free for fourteen years!

I disagree that the blinds are a telltale sign that it is an older householder.
Most of the houses in our cul-de-sac have them and residents' ages range from 20s to 70s.
They give some privacy and can be opened/closed as needed.
Now, net curtains on the other hand - yuk!!!
I totally get the privacy aspect...but still regard them as yuk...yuk...yuk territory and if they were prevalent in offices I worked in then they aren't for me by definition.
Not very keen on net curtains either in my case:(
Somebody somewhere is missing out on a business opportunity:huh: as to just what people are supposed to do in these circumstances.
I've searched and searched and am having problems in dealing with the "privacy curtains" scenario personally. I DO have some muslin curtains but they have "gone expensive" since and I don't regard "nets" as "modern" and am feeling a little bit lost as to just what to do...
If anyone has any suggestions as to just what to do regarding the privacy angle on windows when vertical blinds are regarded as old-fashioned/problematic on the one hand and net curtains are disliked on the other hand then I'd be only too pleased to hear them.0 -

That's what I call badly presented. "Oh be grateful" time...as that is exactly what I thought about the house I have just bought. It was definitely badly presented and I suspect I got it cheaper than I otherwise would as a consequence...0 -
