Firstly you need to advise whether you actually owe this debt or not?

Hi

I have just received a letter claiming that advantis credit are acting on instruction from their client BT to confirm the whereabouts of a surname.

I do not know my BT account number. Way back when I was moving out of that property the account was closed as normal (as confirmed by BT on the telephone at the time).

After reading through this forum and others, I see these guys seem to email people who had a BT account years ago and then harass them about debt that doesn't actually exist or if it does exist it is statue barred for being over six years old.

I have emailed BT via bt custhelp slash app slash contact_email slash c slash 4950

Can the BT rep here also check this for me please?

Thin that on the form it didn�t show the 1 in the e-mail so I have resent it now so you should have the e-mail with you. You may also want to check any other folders you have as it may go into one of them instead of your inbox.
