I am helping my daughter to reclaim her bank charges (Barclays).
They have already closed her account down.
What happens if, at the end of it all, they agree to repay her charges, will they send a cheque to her personally?
I notice on these forums people seem to have had them paid directly into their accounts.
But, as hers has already been closed by Barclays, what will happen?
Living in hope.
Your help and advice will be appreciated. Thank you Magicmadam0 -
For starters, it is "when", not "if"! I presume that it would have to be repaid by cheque. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

your daughter should open another account to pay the money into when she gets her cheque.0

If the account has been closed due to a debt situation the bank will pay any monies reclaimed into that account and send a cheque for the remainder.0 -

Thank you for replying. My daughter has opened another account - one where she cannot get into problems with.0 -
Can anyone help with this, i am on a Debt Management with Halifax and they have paid the money owed into our overdrawn accounts!. Although i no longer bank with them they REFUSE POINT BLANK to pay by cheque. I keep phoning them to say that this is not acceptable and we DO NOT accept this offer but they just pay the money into the old overdrawn halifax accounts, i phone up and say NO not accepting this, they take it out and then they put it back in again and then i have to phone up and go through all that again!!. The long and short is that it's now been referred to my local courts and they have advised me that my case will be on the judges desk within the next 8 days and that he will probably throw it out if they've paid!................even though i cannot access the money and am regularly paying back the debt to them through pay plan!. Also i DESPERATLY need the money for 2 broken down cars, washing machine and blocked drains (never rains it pours!).
Is there anything i can do!!! PLease say there is!
If i phoned the Halifax and got them to reverse the money again and submitted new eveidence to say it hasn't been paid would that work?0 -
hi neenos
am sorry but i think there is nothing you can do about it.................the only way you would get any money is where the amount being claimed is more than what is owed...........then you would basically get what is left over after debts have been cleared..........sorry.
