Do the Banks pay up by cheque or not?

Thanks for your reply. Sorry for repeating a question, I'm new to the board.

I think I might write back to the RBOS and ask if I can have a portion of the money by cheque. It's worth a go. If I stress my hardship, they may use the bulk to offset my debt and at least give me something. I'll let everyone know what happens although I won't hold my breath.

I hate banks!!!!!!!!!
