This rip off ebayer just got £20 for selling the info about the stock checkers - he'd been doing well with buy it now for £2.99 but has now gone to a higher level! His positive feedback seems to be all 1p screensavers  I hate people like this.

Blimey some people really are rather silly to buy that

And couldn't believe it, 4 minutes after I logged off at 2:30 this morning toys r us had some available

    I will NOT give in!!

ill ring ebay again now then. I have given until midday for a refund before I leave negative feedback, which I have promised will stop his scam!

As a buyer are you able to obtain his contact details/address? Just wondered if they were false (I assume they are) and who is at that address?

I am one of the foolish people who bought from bintabe2007. I was impulse buying after 4 hours of dissertation buying. In my foolishness, I assumed they were misprices, without investigating fully.

I sell nintendo wiis myself (supplementing those uni fees!) but I am willing to sell one at cost price to someone if they can help me resolve this issue. I have spoken to ebay who are investigating and emailed paypal as well as reporting the paypal transactions so that money is placed on temporary hold.

I am not really sure what to do next. I have threatened seller but he has said he would refund and then never did.

If anyone has experience and advice on what to do next thatd be great and like I say I will let one wii go at cost price to the person who helps the most to get this resolved.

    Many thanks

Best to ask in the Ebay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales section
    there are many helpful people.

Yes his contact details are fake. So ebay should put a stop to this straight away. Thanks, I will try that forum.

No they didn't. Earlier poster checked immediately and there were none.
These stock checkers work by checking the page and if there are changes they flag that there is stock - but sometimes a web page might change for other reasons - giving a false positive.
I am holding on for when Nintendo give the word and flood the shops for Xmas.

I personally think you will be fine, Its takes Paypal about 7 days to transfer funds into their account, and that will be plenty of time for Paypal to stop them scamming if they so desire.

Dont forget if you ge one from John Lewis to use Quidco.

I got £5.97 back on my wii and big brain academy (£198.95)
  • The shops like HMV, Virgin Mega Stores who don't have waiting lists appear to be the best bet, they seem to be getting them in in dribs and drabs but are sold out again within an hour of being sold, you need to be there as they are opening. I got one on Friday by sheer fluke (I was just passing and nipped in on the off chance) at the virgin Store. They sold out almost straight away.

OK, if you bought from the ebay scammer this is what you need to do.

We know their VAT No, address and number is fake, so go onto live ebay chat http://https://cschatlb-na.corp.ebay.com/chat.asp?profile=15 and tell them this. If you bought then these facts alone are enough to get the auction cancelled.

You need to leave neg feedback immediately, and raise a dispute with Paypal.

Under the Contact Us at Paypal is their phone number.... yes it's a rip off 0870 No, but none the less you should call them (they take a week to respond to emails)

The one possible saving grace is this happened at the weekend, and banks don't work weekends so Paypal have until 3:30pm on Monday to reverse any withdrawl of funds. I also know for a fact that when a large amount of funds hit your paypal account they require a lot of extra details. For example they would require prove that you own the items you're selling (they would require a delivery/purchase receipts), in addition you would have to confirm your landline phone number.
