the store manager is trying to cover up their mistake. if it's not even on letter headed paper then ignore it.
they won't write back and make a further issue of it otherwise they'll have to explain to headoffice why their staff are accepting other shops coupons.0 -
Yes, go on. Do it. Ring the store manager. But don't forget to come back and tell us what he says.0

Your cordless can be heard quite a distance away on simple radio scanners.
That is if its not digital.
Undoubtedly you have let knowledge out about your big shop.
You either have a jealous person or a hoaxer.
My guess is now 95% hoax
Its a guess.Make some buns and a pot of tea.Lay low and shop without coupons in the alledged store and see what happens.
Say nothing to staff.
You will be doing nothing wrong if you just shop and forget the letterThink not what MSE.com can do for you but what you can do for MSE0 -
OK, my view -
1. Don't worry! Don't let this upset you. And don't take any notice of the moaners on here.
2. if you don't want to go in and talk to them I can't see any reason at all to do so. You don't have to go along with their agenda.
3. As I understand the legal side of this, you have done nothing wrong. As others have said, the contract is as follows - Tesco offers goods for sale. You offer a means of payment, which can legally be anything at all. in your case it was mainly vouchers. They accept. You exchange your means of payment for their goods and take them home. This is all perfectly proper and correct and in no way fraudulent.
4. It might be a good idea to write to them, and it might be helpful to go to the CAB for advice, though I think there's probably plenty of helpful stuff already on this thread.
5. My guess is that the manager is scared of getting into trouble for allowing a member of his staff to take so many vouchers, and is trying to persuade you to cough up to save his skin. Not your problem!!!
6. Have a nice cuppa and don't worry any more! Did I say that already?

completly agree their letter has lots of 'may', and 'might' if you read the actually wording they don't say anything will or needs to happen. The don't say they WILL do anything terrible to you.
think they are def chancing it as the cashier has made the mistake.Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.0 -

The more I read this, the more I think it is the manager trying to cover up a brown trouser moment.
My view is that if it's not on headed paper, ignore it. You've done nothing wrong anyway. And next time your in Mr T's, if you smell something funny, it's their fear!

My mum just called Tesco CS on the 0800 number and asked for clarification of voucher acceptance, she was told thath the only other stores coupons they accept are sainsbury's, she was also told that you can definately use a voucher from a magazine say birds eye peas £1.00 off against shopping even if you do not have the product as long as they stock the product in question.
So then we asked if you have say £22.00 total shopping bill and use coupons to value of £20.00, but do not have any of the products will they be accepted, he said they should all be accepted as long as they stock the product, he also said most other major supermarkets have the same conditions just not a great deal of people know about it, he also said that most coupons you get from newspapers, magazines etc say on them accepted in most major retailers or something like that, but anyway long and short of it, Sainsburys money off coupons, and any other product coupons as long as they stock it, and you DO NOT NEED TO BUY PRODUCT. Hope this helps someone.0
