Its a possibility it is a hoax.
Your receipts contain time of purchase, store, till number details.etc..
Obtaining Tesco letterheads or forgery may be something to consider.
I suspect you have given out clues about your activities others.
Any letter you portrayed in post 1 would have come from Head Office.Think not what MSE.com can do for you but what you can do for MSE0 -

What a stupid thing to post. It is completely different. The OP didn't pretend to be offering anything other than was offered. If they were fake vouchers, that would be different. But they weren't.

There is an easy way to find that out. Ring Tescos and ask to speak to the chckout manager and give the name can always hang up0

Actually, there may be a fraud here. Not by the OP who was asked for the vouchers in consideration for her shopping but by Tesco who will presumably now represent to the promoters that they accepted the voucher in respect of the item.
Just to clarify one thing, if anyone here has done *nothing* wrong, it's the OP.

Wow you were brave :T Even though the cashier encouraged you, you were carrying the 'offensive weapons' :rotfl: so yes you were 'armed and dangerous' and in my opinion brave to have a go. In my experience coupon users have to be thick skinned - it's only rare occasions that I come across SAs 'happily' prepared to accept 10% - handing over coupons is usually an ordeal, I wish there were more helpful SAs about like this Tesco bod :A I hope he doesn't get into too much trouble
I also think it's important to find out how they got your address. Talk about Big Brother :rolleyes:0 -
I imagine that the problem has occurred because the OP has used Somerfield specific coupons in Tesco and they cannot reclaim the cash from the manufacturer as they are specific to Somerfield.0

no letterhead? unless things have got so hard for tesco (thanks to your use of vouchers, no doubt! :rotfl: ) that they can't afford stationary, that seems very fishy to me...My signature has been removed by the authorities. can you explain what you mean by mislaid some reciepts?
Seems slightly unprofessional for it to be in a hand written envelope. It all seems a bit fishy to me.0 -

It's not even on a Tesco letterhead? Seems very odd indeed. Surely a letter would come from HO, or at the very least be on letterhead?
If I were you, I'd do as Ella suggests.
I suspect that the store doesn't want HO to know about this, because they would be the ones in trouble.
AND, if they have been accessing your details wihout HO's knowledge or permission, then they could be in even more trouble.0
