Does anyone actually know what the Head Office policy is (I don't) but I did email Waitrose a while back and got a reply about their exact policy. At least then you will know if the Manager is correct in what he says to you. I very much doubt that Tesco can or would bother to do anything about this - imagine the bad publicity they would get with their huge profits. Like other posters I expect the Manager has a case to answer with Head Office regard taking Morrisons coupons which they cannot get the money back from rather than the manufacturers who they claim it all back from - like someone else said fraudulently! They pull fast ones over manufacturers the whole time (the manufacturers pay for BOGOFs not Tesco and are pushed into doing these) and don't like a taste of their own medicine. Good luck DK

... very interesting ..... .... does not sound very professional ... sounds like personal indignation from the manager ....
i still have the receipts. the letter is written on plain paper ie no letterhead and is signed from the checkout manager

  • Having knowingly purchased goods different to those that the coupons referred to, they then went back to the same cashier, and did exactly the same thing again, but on a larger scale. One could argue that the individual is trying to profit by dishonest means.A coupon, like a bank note has T's and C's if those are infringed then its dishonest.

If its the Checkout Manger I bet he has had a roasting from the store manager. If he has not put it on official company letter headed paper I think he will be even more in the mire once his boss finds out.

Stop all the postings...pick up the phone..call the store....speak to the STORE MANAGER (not the checkout manager).Tell him your upset about being hassled and accused, ask why your details have been disclosed to a member of 'his staff'? Ask why a communication has come out from his store that is NOT on official paper?

    Just do it.

I reckon the checkout manager is worred the store manager will find out that the checkouts are not being 'managed' very well. He definitely should not know your address! Would someone in your family/friend be winding you up?!?
