OOOOOOOh I'm so loving this thread. But sorry it has to be a hoax - address is from Tesco Stores Limited - who calls them that! Also no postcode on the address. Still let's carry on as it is much more fun than lots of the other threads:DThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

A big wind up I reckon....A manager of any kind would know the postal code for the store...It's a must in fire training!Mrs Storey

exactly if THEY cant decide, how are we meant to know? We are customers-not employees, employees don't even know!

Bliming heck, that took me an hour (on and off) to read!!!
Be really interested to know who it is from. If it was someone at Tescos then not only will they be in trouble but you never know, you may get compensation for suffering incurred, lol!!! you never know!!:T Benjamin has won!!! Am soooo proud. Thank you to everyone who agreed my baby was the cutiest. Want to go round and hug everyone who voted, it means so much to me!:A0 -
just read this thread.... took blumming ages!... ok as i see it the op has done nothing wrong whatsoever. Tescos accepted the cuopons in payment at the time of payment (contract of selling goods was then complete) All tescos stores have differing views on coupon usage and even the same stores differ due to which cashier serves you. It sounds to me like a wind up as if the checkout manager got hold of your details that would be totally stupid/illegal on his part! (if they have acted illegally by accepting your coupons redeeming them and then chasng you for money, when obtaining your details illegally and then threaten you that would make an interesting court case in favour of you!
) i wouldnt worry about it. Ask you oh outright if it was him if it wasnt id contact a soliciter and threaten the mighty tescos right back!
Bad mother to 2!

If you look on the back of a Tesco receipt it shows their name as Tesco Stores Ltd. I think it's a genuine letter from a disgruntled employee, who is well annoyed that one of her staff took so many Somerfield coupons.
I also think that as presumably they've got your name and address from the clubcard you used, they are entitled to contact you. I'm not that familiar with the Data Protection Act but when you sign up for a Clubcard you are possibly allowing them to contact you as you've given them your details?
If you'd paid in full by cash, you couldn't then go back in and ask for your cash to be refunded as you'd now like to charge the full amount to your credit card. Equally they can't now ask you to pay by another means as they accepted your method of payment at the time of the transaction.
Either ignore the letter or take it up with them. Either way the store doesn't have a leg to stand on.0 -
absolutely right this is the best thread I've read for ages - cmon people - who's going to phone someone important at tescos for OP then and get some answers (but not the store where the alledged offence took place!!!) (not me cause I'm too chicken...)0
