To be honest the whole episode has been quite an ordeal for the cashier concerned. She is a loyal, trustworthy and long-standing member of staff who has had until now a blemish free record.

As a consequence of this error she wasn't able to sleep properly for days and was completely beside herself with worry. Under the circumstances a warning didn't seem either appropriate or necessary. I am confident that this incident is a one off, and given the distress it caused, she will do her level best to ensure it doesn't happen again.

no one is perfect. Everyone can make a mistake. Even big ones ! god knows i have made humongous ones in the past !
