  • My suggestion of number sequences got me nowhere. I decided to go with the view that the the 3 digit codes were Puzzle number/Line or answer number/letter number. For Puzzle 5 I took the names as opposed to the letter sequence and ended up with UEASCHGGSAUY. Using the anagram solver gave hundreds of possible solutions and I simply selected the first on the list A GAUCHE GUSSY. Not much hope but I was determined to make an entry.
  • An extremely frustating competition...just ran out of time and guessed an answer.

I think the solution had something to do with constructing a combination lock / wordlock and somehow aligning/rotating columns of letters from the puzzles 1-5 with the combinations from puzzle 6 i.e move columns 1-2-3 .

I only thought of this after watching the da vinci code last night on tv and seeing the 'Cryptex'

I ended up taking the first letter from each answer and making a 5 x 10 table and then just totally ran out of time..heyho but do feel I was on the right track?

Try looking up 'combination lock' and 'wordlock' on wiki

I'm sure I'm not right jaibaby. None of this made much sense, so I do hope they explain it at some point.

But I think it was the best suggestion so far! Really enjoyed doing it, just gutted it may have beat us :( Oh well, on to next time...... :rotfl:

EDIT: I've just emailed them asking for solutions! Lol :D
    Thanks to all posters :A
  • I believe Hampton101 may have been on the right track. I ended up guessing an answer and would be very surprised if it were right. What a lot of effort for a competition of relatively small value. Still kept us all at it eh!!!
Bring on the next one is what I say :j

ALERT ALERT They haven't got their winners so the dead line is extended to 6th September. There are also discretionary clues to help with the solutions. I don't know how close we've got but it gives me new hope!!!! Onwards troopers!!
