Depends on what she likes. My general tip would be a trip somewhere nice if you can afford.
  • It depends on money, how much are you thinking? You could take her away somewhere romantic either here in UK or abroad.

You could book up a hot air balloon ride for you both to go on (that is what I had for my 21st) followed by a nice romantic meal, or a party with the whole family and her friends.

If you want to give her something she can actually keep, then you have a number of options. The first thing that comes to mind is jewellery - I got a bracelet of my then fiancee, but TBH, I don't wear it much now - it's a bit dated.

However, my fave pressie and one I look at daily is an original oil painting that my parents bought me. They let me choose what I wanted and as the artist has always been one of my favourites, I still love it to this day. It's on a main wall in my dining room and I see it whenever I walk in there. I shall continue to treasure it for the rest of my days.

hmmm going somewhere would be nice but she has her graduation etc at the same time & moving house so would have to a bit after. Therefore maybe a present would be best.

Where is the best place to get a nice bracelet?

Oh yes can't really afford more than around £150ish at the moment

With me a big bunch of flowers always makes me feel good if you have any cash spare.

Again depends on what she likes (and what you like doing too)

If you dont live in or around London you could take her to London

or there is Alton Towers (with travel)

Or if you (or her) drive and can get to Wales theres this

    A Paris City break

Or what about a hot-air balloon ride?

    Does she like sweets?

(Or you could just make your own and make it personlised with a nice box, some paper and love notes all in it)

Now I like this (thenotsowyzewun take note)

Hahahaha the last rolo is hilarious!! I wonder if people actually buy it?! I'd love one! But then i am an odd one :rolleyes

I think a whole day all planned is lovely. Wake her up with breakfast and flowers and maybe a bracelet, tell her u have planned the whole day for her. Then take her some where she would like for a day out and a bite for lunch, then have dinner planned with all her family all there as a surprise :) It would be much more special than one expensive pressie.

Darren - it would be worth making a trip to a jewellery quarter. The biggest (I believe) is in Birmingham (Hockley), which is where I've got lots of my jewellery, but there are these areas in London and Manchester, although I'm sure others could tell you if there are any more in other cities.

When I got my bracelet from the Brum quarter, I saw an identical one in a major high street jewellers for twice the price! And this high street jeweller was in the middle of Brum, about 2 miles away from where I got mine :) You should be able to find a lovely bracelet for £150 - and it makes the cost of travelling there worth it.

I always love going for a theatre weekend break for my birthdays but fear they cost abit more than your budget. My absolute best thing I done on my birthday one year was.....I love tigers and hubby arranged for us to go to a zoo in Essex and I hand fed a very large male tiger......it was excellent.....took some pics and the tiger licked my hand afterwards...to feel his breath on my hand was something I'll never forget. If she likes stuff like that do something unusual.I'd also love to drive a car round a race track but can't as I'm too short...lol....Personally it was preferable to me than jewellery as I don't wear jewellery much and jewellery can get lost but my memories will be forever in my mind.

Ohhhh, that reminds me. On year I bought my OH a helicopter lesson. He was absolutely thrilled and said that it was something that he would never forget. I don't know if your gf is into this sort of thing, but if so look for a local airport, or flying school...far cheaper.
