Oh we are not looking at that particular one, that was just an example of the flats in the development. There are some better, some worse. Actually I'd like the one we owned before, which is next door to the one in the pic. We won't look seriously until we have sold.
No, I didn't notice the ceiling! Will have another look!
ETA: I can't see as far up as the ceiling in my photos (puzzled??).(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

Went to Jaywick last year as my missus used to go there on holiday when she was a kid in the 60s. Disapointed wasn't the word.0 -
If you are retired, have you considered renting a retirement flat or bungalow? I understand that the waiting lists for these can be much shorter than ordinary HA lists and then you would have the capital to supplement your income, but there are also private rented places available and the rents tend to be lower. If you go on Rightmove and tick rented and retirement you will see what is available.
This one, for example

How about the kent coast? This is a retirement flat:

Thanks, we don't really want retirement fllats. We are quite young (and young at heart) pensioners and these would not suit our lifestyle. The residents might object to my husband's motorbike and kayak.:rotfl::T We don't want to live amongst 'old' people.
Will edit my OP/.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Thanks.....Southport looks promising!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Hull has a lot of properties in that price range, in certain areas of Hull it wasn't unheard of that you could buy an entire STREET of houses for that amount (as long as you were renting them, because trust me you wouldn't fancy living in them!).
Anyway, onto the delights Hull has to offer for £85k, and there's some nice properties in this lot, some better than others:

Probably two of the better ones, both have 3 bedrooms too:

I quite like that last two myself!
I could go on but I'm sure if you want to look further you can do so at your own leisure. :cool:0 -
if you look at the top of the kitchen units - it's darker, look out a little and you'll see where the wood of the joists appears?
