I did that to my old Sony TMIF, it's a fiddly repair from a badly designed charger.

Need good luck vibes today please, need Dad's blood levels to be stablised or it's more hospital trips :(

Just looking for the last bits for the bathroom. Who pays £131 for a loo brush and holder?

However, trying to find a plain White ceramic one is slightly more challenging than I thought it would be! I'm certainly not going to be able to get everything I need in one place...

If you haven't managed to find one, would it be possible to buy a white vase and loo brush separately - would they go together OK?
Big changes afoot at chez Thrifty along with lots of learning, so we will see what transpires.

Ooooh, intruiging! Hope it's all going well for you. BTW would you like to come and paint my bungalow when you've finished your place :D?

Firewalker - great to hear that your operation went well.

Fantasia - lovely to hear from you.

Gemmzie (((hugs))), better times are on their way.

    SunFlower  to interview experiences!

    MG's DS1 - hope you're having a lovely first day at school.

My new car is fabulous (and yes I did scare the adaptations guy on the test drive by saying vroom vroom!) and I am very excited at the prospect of regaining the confidence to drive greater distances on less familiar routes.

OH helped me tidy up and complete some of my declutter areas although the cutlery is still spread over the worktop as it all needs destaining. I've tried soaking it in vinegar but I think I need to add bicarb as it's not really doing the trick.

I have 3 books to pass on at the moment but I've started to read my way through a pile unearthed on the bedside table which all belong to other people and so can be returned as soon as I've read them.

We've moved a surplus table out of my bedroom and brought in a clothes horse from the shed which has dealt with the clothes mountains. I will have to go through the wardrobe as I still have too many clothes for the amount of storage space that I have. Once that's done my bedroom should be a far more restful place.

Some paperwork frogs to munch through this afternoon as OH has promised to take me to see the HP film (luckily it's still on at the big cinema) on Thursday but only if I've done certain jobs first!

  • Sending positive vibes to Gemmzie's Dad and to Winnie in Pooh (luv that name :D) for good health.

Sorry Claire, can't help - the OS board is good on queries like that.

Taking a breather from porch painting - determined to finish before lunch so a late lunch it is today :D

Let me tell you about my latest project - I took up knitting (to help me relax, it works :T) a couple of months ago. Had to drag out skills learnt in school but they were still in there :T. Have had great fun knitting fun cotton facecloths - Mario and Transformers for ds and dh and cute ducks for me an dd :rotfl:.

So decided to get more adventurous and knit dd a pair of Totoro mittens that she spotted on Ravelry. Oh dear, well first I had to learn knitting in the round - am just about okay on 4 needles but could not get to grips with magic-loop knitting - need more patience methinks.

Now need to get to grips with stranded knitting; weaving in long floats not to mention the thumb - maybe I should have aimed a little lower . So if you here cussing and muttering coming over the positive vibes channel, you know what it is :rotfl:.

    Right-ho, back to this painting.

Eta Oceanspirit - erm that'll be a nope (in the nicest possible way) :-)

My poor washing doesn't know whether it's coming or going it's been and out so much today atm it is cracking the flags so probably due some more rain now:rotfl:

Have been much better today - undies all decluttered, about 50 books chosen between me and the icklies, ds has decluttered his cuddlies for "poor babies" aaaw.
Also been through ds's clothes and really decluttered a load - and worked out how little new uniform I need to buy for him, 1 pair of trousers, some new socks cos his feet have grown, 1 posh jumper, 4 cheap as chips jumpers as he wears his day on his jumper (playdough, water, glue, snack, dinner you name it it ends up on his jumper so not going to splash out £10 per jumper just for a flippin' badge!)

Apparently we are making gingerbread men this afternoon, having found the book of the story!

I would try soaking them in soda crystals and water. If they are not for food another idea is soak in mild bleach solution. Hope that helps.

I'm taking it easy/slower - lunch time now and am determined to have an entire hour. Hope you doing the same. A deal is a deal!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Steradent - nope I'm serious. A least thats what I use on the wine making stuff :D

Wonder how DS1 is getting on? Its a wee while before I can go and get him:o

DS2 loved his first day back at play school - new Management in and they have had a serious de-clutter. The place actually looked (dare I say it) quite Montessori this morning.

Then he blew it by asking me to look for something in his room and announcing "only ladies do tidying up!!!!!!!" !!!!!!? Where has he been living for the last three years?:rotfl:

But I have done my MIT - written up ten articles for he next project - wouldn't want FW getting her leg damaged by kicking me :rotfl:

Freezer soup for lunch and then back to the writing as its raining so we can't really hit the park today.

Its for buttons, the tubes that came down have gone brown with wear, I have had one soaking in bleach to see what happens, hasn't changed colour.
