Well - sod the writing - went the park instead.
In my defence both boys are back at school tomorrow and we will no longer have endless afternoons playing in our local park with a picnic lunch

Time to get them (and me) organised for the morning - the days of alarm clocks, schedules and ironed clothes are approaching
So from tomorrow "ita auld claes an parridge" - Souk will translate

Been to Boots to see what I could get using vouchers from machine - came home with some bog standard shampoo for dh 60p but 1/3 off, and mascara for £1.99 but 100 points back so spent £2.38 but get £1 back in points so only £1.38 really. Trying hard not to slip into old ways.
Went and picked some blackberries with DS3 whilst DS1 was at the driving range and have made some blackberry and oat bars.
I've managed to sort a bit of paperwork and plan to do a bit more later. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Have posted on DIY threads but anyone on here got any idea how I can trace and then contact a missing neighbour - we need to rebuild our 8ft tall garden wall and part of theirs as well as it is unsafe. Apparently they work away and council wont give us any details because of data protection. They suggested police but that seems a bit drastic - have tried land registry and internet sites but give different names and no contact details - am stumped and the wall is not going to fix itself:(Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Do you think they may have a redirection on their post? because you can always "send" them a letter and hope it finds them.

Hello all, thanks for the positivity about my hospital appointment
I took the news far better than I would have a few months ago, great isn't it, the power of positivity (and possibly having an OH who has far more to deal with every day with his illness, gives me perspective). I'm going to be having a small op in a few months' time to hopefully take some pain away and give me more movement, and then they'll know better when they're going to need to give me the bigger, ouchier op, which sadly is going to be fusion rather than joint replacement, as you can only have one replacement which only lasts a few years and I'm far too young for it
Anyway, I've got a few months to get in better shape; I've been told not to bother with exercise (thank you, thank you, I am the world's laziest woman, lol, a bit of swimming is as much as I like to do, and now I have 'official' reasons not to push myself!) and maybe I can confound medical science when they take a look inside and not need the bigger op for ooooooooooooooh, ever? centuries?? Here's hoping!0 -
Yesterdays challenge:
First thing - I love books, they are one of my favourite things in the whole world. I have bookcases full of them. They get dusted, they get cared for - what they don't get is READ ALL THE TIME.
But I don't want to de-clutter my books entirely - but working on the theory that "you need to let go of something old to make space for something new" I realise that a few need to be released.
So today's challenge is to find just five books to gift to other people - Five books that you will take personal responsibility to pass on. That's it just a small bags worth ................
..................... of course if you feel brave you can pass another five onto a charity shop.
But here's the deal - these books must be passed on by Friday, and passed on to your chosen people whilst explaining to them that you found these books as part of a de-cluttering exercise of you home and your life. Let others know that you are taking action - let the gentle questions of "how's that going" be the thing that keeps you on task, holds you responsible in the weeks to come.
