It's a bittersweet feeling MG xx but, believe me, after a few days of it, you'll be loving the "freedom".....0

Positive vibes for FW for her op, and Sunflower and Souk for interviews today.
Some great posts, especially from Tricia, Bitsy and Cherie.
Well done Crickett on your weight loss.
I agree that we all have to find our own financial "comfort" level, with regards to a safety net whether that be money in the bank, pensions, benefits, or passive income streams, and in the last few years there have been reported problems with nearly all these things. I am sure that for many of us the answer will be a combination of several of these things.
I have spent the whole week following the decluttering and have been loving it. I feel so much better, I can seem to think more clearly and the house seems huge when all the clutter and stuff is sorted. OH is on first name terms with the lads at the local recycling depot!
Was hoping to have a go at the garden and shed today but have woken to drizzle so hope that it clears up. I f not think I will re-gig the planned weekend and do the bits of holiday shopping I planned for tomorrow today, and hope that I can get in the garden tomorrow.
Have also been tempted by some Hypno's ideas, though MB may be too much of a risk for me. Have decided to read up about it though.
Can't believe its back to school time in Scotland - doesn' t seem two minutes since my brother came down just after his children broke up last month.
Have a lovely last weekend of hols with the boys MG.0 -
I've got a list about a mile long - of things you can't do with a curious toddler in tow ....
............... like painting the inside of the door
............... like reglazing his bedroom window
............. like, like, like :rotfl::rotfl:
But I am concentrating on getting my ducks in a row for MFi3 - one project a month is the plan.

Souk and Sunflower - All the very best for today. I am a couple of hundred miles south of you Souk, but JL in the Metro Centre will have a jolly nice cafe that you can lurk in. Or there is the Laing Art Gallery walking distance if you want to look at art.
Positive vibes FW and also to Claire - hope today is brighter!0 -

Best wishes to Souk and SunFlower for interviews and to FW for the op today
I'll be decluttering baby clothes today. DS turns 11 in a couple of weeks and I kept more or less everything. Fortunately really because it should save a fortune but not all of it is in great condition having been stuck in a loft for over ten years! I did the cutlery draw the other day and it still makes me smile every time I open it! DH has agreed to the seven bags challenge at the weekend on the condition that one bag can be used for decluttering the cars which sounds like a cracking deal to me!
On a financial note, we've decided to put decision making on hold for a couple of months. The only thing we have done is make sure that DH is signed up to his work pension scheme as we recently found out that it's one of the last final salary schemes available (he works in the social housing sector, so also hopefully fairly secure employment). But I think when we do come to make decisions we will be looking to build up a substantial emergency fund before tackling the mortgage in any big way.
Also thank you to whoever recommended the Build Your Own Rainbow book (I'm so sorry I can't recall anything atm!) its just what I need to help focus me. I have a vague plan of going to university next September when DS1 starts comprehensive school and bump will be almost 1. Anyway I've ordered the book to help me sort this out - whether I really want to do it and what I want to do it in!
Is DS1 excited about starting school MG?0 -
