MG
Thanks MG. No rush, just wondered if I'd let a cat out of a bag but my message was rather vague in case of a mishap with the recipient.
Have any of you used the Build your own rainbow book? I bought it years ago and think I may start doing it, I never got very far the first time. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Hi all!
Had meeting with VIP lady today. She has offered me a VERY exciting opportunity - unpaid, of course - but it gets me in to something potentially very exciting at the beginning of it. I can't say what, as it's all Super Top Secret Squirrel, but my CV is going to look much better for having it on there.
Also, have 2 job interviews tomorrow, the first being for a very well paid secretarial position. Job not so exciting, maybe, but the paypacket is, and it would be a good thing to do while getting other things off the ground.
Right, can't stop as need to go to shop to buy some sandwich stuff for tomorrow's lunch. Will be over t'other side as soon as I've figured some stuff out. It might be tomorrow by then, but not matter, I'll get there in the end.
Take care. x0 -
Good luck for tomorrow Sunflower.
I have ANOTHER interview tomorrow, well my second one for this company so positive vibes for tomorrow at 2pm please, ladies.
FW, hope all goes well tomorrow and enjoyed reading the stuff on money. I'm going to keep on short term saving for travel and nice things once I have a new job and am sorted. What I think the rest of it boils down to is that we all do have different priorities but most of us probably COULD bring in more if we had to and were really motivated to do it a la Hypno. If we're not or if we'd rather do other things with our time then thats okay too. No victims, just that we all have different situations and things CAN be easier for some than others
MG, you're so right about the entitled mentality. I see it in my younger staff. They want endless time off but still lots of money. I got asked a few weeks ago if one could have weekends off to see her boyfriend!!! I burst out laughing as Id love weekends off to see my friends and family but I chose to work in retail and guess what, we're quite busy on a weekend. The parents need to be in charge of the kids, and not the other way round. LOADS of people in the shop let their kids away with murder and it drives me nuts. I never needed a skelp but I knew who was boss all right. My mother is even shorter than me but she brooks no nonsense. She's still the person I call when I need advice though and I always get it. My friends ask me to ask her advice too and despite her own fairly sheltered upbringing she doesn't even flinch at us, or my even more eccentric brother and sister.
Anyway to bed as Im up early for my trip to Newcastle. Dont suppose any of you ladies will be in the city centre at around 12 tomorrow, Ive a few hours to kill?! XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
I am up early to work on my CV, had to give up last night due to what I call "brain fog". I only need to find an example of my problem solving skills and my attention to detail. Should be easy so why do I struggle? Oh well - back to the drawing board..."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Good luck for the job vibes coming your way Souk
I'm the other end of the country to Newcastle, but will have a virtual cup of coffee with you :coffee: or maybe a
Willow - hope you will keep posting, keep your chin up x
MG - the big day approaches, when DS1 goes to the new school. You sound like you're taking it all in your stride, and wow to the MFi3 plans, need to work on my focus just to get through each month without starting to spend next month's salary (thank heavens for credit cards, thats what I say! I pay them off each month but have to use them to dip in to the next month if you see what I mean....).
Things in Kittikins country have got markedly better this week - at work I had a great mid-year review and the scope of my job is changing beyond my wildest dreamsStill the same job but for fewer people and reassurance from my boss that I am amazing, but have been overstretched for too long and he didn't like it!

Dh was up at 5(!) to do some paper work and cos he's hurt his wrist separating two fighting clients last night - is bandaged but still painful. Kids got up at 5.30 to see him cos he has been working so much they are missing him. So now 7.30 and we are all up,dressed, breakfasted and now "bored":rotfl:Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Today is a quick 15 minute declutter. I am mindfull that most of us are still filling bin-bags
So today - your challenge is to clean out your cutlery drawer. Arrange your cutlery nicely and release the odd, mismatching and random bits and pieces.
Whilst you are at it - boil the kettle an sit down with a lovely cuppa when you have finished.FINALLY AND OFFICIALLY DEBT FREESmall Emergency Fund £500 / £500

I am ALL for finding a way of figuring out WHAT you want out of life - I say go for it. It takes quite a while t work through this book - so take it a chapter at a time and then when you get over t'other side we can all have a chat with you.
