Yup doing that but we tend to get a slightly soggy visitor to our room about 6ish atm - has only been three nights but had forgotten how tiring broken nights can be and dh is usually more groggy than me and has to turn on every single light to sort things out so it's usually me who ends up sorting things out iyswim.

Can you cut down on liquid after a certain time to try and ease the load?

Cutting down liquid at a certain time is not recomended and doesn't really work, ds2 is 14 and still wets in the nights, we tried cutting liquids out and were told not to by the pediatrition as it doesn't work.

my friend had the same problem, she said she would only let her DS have milk at 6pm and he went to bed at 8pm, she said he would still wet the bed.

DH said he was a bed wetter until age 9.

We have been lucky with DS. He is a late nappy stopper but since he has been in big boys pants, during the day, he has been dry for a few months now, and uses the toilet properly. We put him into night-time pullups (huggies) and told him he had to stay dry at night, these were his night time big boys pants, he was very good. He had a few accidents, but not many, after 2 packets, I told him he didn't need night time big boy pants, he needed to "breathe" like Daddy. He has been great apart from 1 accident one night. He doesn't go at all during the night, just as soon as he wakes up.

Maybe you should try the night time pullups, if he is dry during the day?
  • Some members of my family were enuretic throughout their lives, including adulthood, despite all attempts to help, to the extent of sleeping on an alarmed pad. There is a suggestion an extra chromosome, may cause enuresis. Whatever the cause, i think some people just have to get on with, live with it. I'm sure your offspring will make the transition to dry nights, and whatever, the key is to not make it a huge issue or to shout at the person involved.
Fred - Where's your get up and go?

Barney - It just got up and went.

  • My childminder recommended using traditional terry nappies at night when we were training DS. Seemed to do the trick as DS seemed to notice when they started to feel wet and woke up and he was dry day and night very quickly. This might be something to try?
