  • I have lost one contact lens... can anyone explain exactly how that happens... I noticed whilst out driving this morning... so I have a glasses day today, because I can't find any spares. Must buy a pack for situations like this I suppose. How annoying :D

Over and out from half blind TMIF!
  • Wow, everyone seems happy this morning! :)

I've had a second day of disgraceful lie ins: no more wine for me, I think! :o

Anyway, I bought some new towels for massage. Very lovely they are, and very lovely I want them to stay. I seem to remember some woman selling me towels many moons ago telling me that if you want them to plump up and keep their colour better, that you steep them in slat water before washing them for the first time, so that the cotton plumps up.

Has anyone else heard this, or no some failsafe method for keeping my towels nice 'n' colourfast?

    Fanks! :p

Not a very productive day - I managed to wash, dress and have breakfast before my parents arrived, then walked to the shop to get milk and by the time I got back my dad was doing something to the back door to make it close better. Fed them coffee, put the clock up, sooted the washing and realised that all the laundry baskets are currently full of books. So one load of washing has been done and is in the TD. My dad and I also filled up some sacks with logs to put in Athens shed, and moved half the front log pile to the back, so I will need to split logs when I restock for the next few weeks until the whole of the front woodpiles has been moved. There were lots of queen wasps hibernating in there :( which are now sadly dead as I don't want to end up getting stung or burning them.

The low afternoon sun revealed that my French windows need a thorough clean :o and I know I also need to give the utility room floor a really good scrub as there are traces of cement on it. This week I want to get the curtain poles for the landing, stairs and front door sanded, painted and back up - sadly my lovely cleaner was I'll last week so unless she has another cancellation soon I will also need to do the cleaning so that the dust and dirt is banished before the clean curtains go back up.

This week is going to need lots of careful planning, which sounds like a great excuse to light the fire and get out a notepad and pens :D
  • Clootie and Dorastar - great wins! Nice wee bits of abundance.
Souk - hope you're settling well in Auld Reekie.
Good long lie, Claire, I reckon you needed it.
Welcome back greenbee - did all your outfits work out?
Chutney sounds good Bitsy. All Christmassy.
MG - looking forward to seeing what your day's been like.

Quiet day, still licking my wounds after the single-handed office move. I'm not prepared to be left without help like that again - it was heavy going and unfair not to have support from HQ. And I shall be making my views known, politely but firmly!

Meant to be helping a friend go through her wardrobe tomorrow, in Auld Reekie funnily enough, but at present I don't think I'm up to getting through there by train and up to her flat - she is on the second floor. Will decide in the morning.
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Am so so tired and so so too much to do and so so no energy left to do it. Trying to get ds to drop nappies at night so we are back to getting up at least once in the night (have no idea how we used to manage 2 or 3 times when they were babies). House much better after a slog at it today, and pile of school work done but still loads to do so off for a very early night soon and fresh start in the morning.

Do you lift DS for a wee when you go to bed? We did this and it stopped many nightly wakings.

I am back from my course and I have to say it couldn't have come at a better time.

I am much more calm about my options and also much more rational. Just want to say that I am back on the drawing board. Still don't know what I am going to do but I do know that what ever it is I am not going to rush it. If I am going to run I am doin it to run towards something and not away from something else.

Will catch up soon, promise :o

Yup doing that but we tend to get a slightly soggy visitor to our room about 6ish atm - has only been three nights but had forgotten how tiring broken nights can be and dh is usually more groggy than me and has to turn on every single light to sort things out so it's usually me who ends up sorting things out iyswim.
