MG just discovered that the Olympic Torch will pass through your home town on its travels.

OOoooHHHH!!! Just shown the boys and they are jumping around the room. Day after my birthday too - so I feel a "party" coming on.

It goes right past the school as well - what a great way to inspire kids

  • Sunflower, I know what you mean. I am struggling to get rid of some more stuff. I kept it in the summer but I don't want to buy more storage and I know I won't sell it so I am going to do a charity shop bag and then it will be gone

Sat with the SAD light on this morning - hope this lifts my mood. So today my "Big Frog" is t come back from dropping DS2 off at playgroup and cut 20 32.5cm noggins and stack them neatly.

Anything after that is a bonus - at least I will have done one positive thing towards building his room.

Today is a very exciting day -

I am going to the opticians for new glasses! :j :j Exciting times. Glasses are probably one of the biggest and most important purchases I make :rotfl: (and one of the most expensive).

It is also student protest day. I hope we will not all be kettled, I don't like that feeling of being hemmed in in a large crowd. Here's to a totally peaceful day

Keep your eyes and ears about you Lara.

20 noggins cut and stacked - so Big Frog done.:j Must get into the habit of doing something each day however small to progress this difficult project.

15 minutes housework to straighten the place up then a cuppa and a "gentle list"

He can come down here then and chase round killer cat as she brings in mice (dead or alive who knows ) two nights on the trot. at 12.30am  he might not find it so bloomin funny then.

Been a stressful start to the week BUT notices have been given and it's official I am drastically cutting back on CM hours. Having had a load of stress off DS last night, crying, tantruming etc its the right decision. so frugal living, make doing and mending is the order for the day. Stashing away as much money before now and Christmas when terminations come into effect. Oh I do love a challenge :T

    MG, you are FABULOUS!

Am loving the wombling (used to do a lot of it as a child) and I've been looking forward to noggins day (love that word) after watching the video you posted on making stud walls. And :rotfl:to greenbee's undies holding your insulation up.

OH was saying to me how he thought I was great because I have many talents ie from knowing how to service a diesel engine to mending his clothes etc and I said ok, but MG is even greater because she can ..... and I left him speechless after reeling off the list of your talents.

Bitsy, great decision. Your wellbeing and that of your family is more important than the cash if you know you can manage on OH's money by making changes.

Crickett, so glad you decided to apply for the Oxford job - you go girl!

Souk, hope the training for the new job is going well and all the best for the move this weekend.

Tricia, congratulations on your new arrival.

Been busy getting through my backlog with help from friends. Also been making a winter store cupboard with help from AF (including a 25kg sack of red lentils) and did a spending diary in October as my spending had become completely out of control.

I've been training OH in MSE ways and he's getting the hang of it :). He's managed to greatly reduce his petrol use by planning journeys and incorporating several jobs in an outing ie dropping things off at the tip on the way to meetings and food shopping on the way home instead of making separate journeys as he previously would have done.

Also when he's having a jobs day here and making soups and stews at mealtimes he is getting used to making double what we need so the spare can be put into portions for freezing. He used to try to throw away left overs . I've shown him that anything left over - however little the amount - will be used up somehow.
