The Matrix - Re-Evolution!!

All wombled insulation now in place in the eaves - had to get a bit creative though so don't laugh,
The joist spacing in the roof is imperial (1820's house) and the insulation came from previous refurb next door and is cut metric. So I needed to "tie" the insulation in the spaces with something and as advised to leave a gap between the insulation and roof for ventilation and so that it doesn't "wick" water.
So ............................... well I have two bags of tights donated to me this weekend for stuffing draught excluders - so I cut thin strip of tight material and stapled them on the joists to hold in the insulation. The builder next door roared with laughter - but did admit that it did the same job as the expensive mesh they would use.
So one roof insulated and ready for plaster boarding - cost - NADA!!!! Yay!!!!!

My Niece/surrogate daughter has passed her Masters!:j:j:j
On the down side rather concern for OH - he's on an immune suppressant drug for arthritis and if he has any flu symptoms has to go to hospital. Guess what -he's been fighting a flu like bug for a week and phoned earlier sounding dreadful and needing Doctors appointment. Appointment at 2.30 so he'll be home early - positive vibes please he just needs antibiotics.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

Brilliant news robsmum - We love education here so tell her the "Aunties" send her huge congratulations.
There's definitely something lurking - so hopefully OH will be fine after a few days rest. You got a couple for hours to prepare for "Project Man-flu" - suggest drawing the bedroom curtains, laying out his jammies, hot water bottle in the bed, Lucozade on the side, favourite book or telly to hand.
When he gets home, soothe his fevered brow and lead him gently upstairs to bed ............. tuck him in and leave him to rest.
OK leave him to wallow:rotfl: But leave him to wallow in his room out of the way and not hogging your sofa and generally being in the way:rotfl:
Seriously, hope its nothing too serious and he feels more chipper soon.

Thanks MG - you had me roaring with laughter..suppose that is one use for tights:rotfl:
I have done my catch up but not the applications - may well take advantage of a free course thing tomorrow to get my CV rejigged and then I can submit some applications which won't take 2 mins to type (I can type really fast and fairly accurately too (thank goodness I learnt to touch type).
It is very grey here again today so I may just debunk into the other room and put the heater on (I have towels and knickers to dry). I may start to tackle the pile of clean washing, I do a bit each day and decide whether to keep, charity shop or rag.
I feel like making something too - I have plain flour, eggs and baking powder and my butterlicious stuff from Sainsbugs.
A few weeks ago I stewed some apples with blackberries but made them too wet - I defrosted some on Sunday and served them with ice cream and they make a handy accompaniment to porridge.0 -

Stripped and remade the bed - moved myseld into spare room, collected all my craft stuff together and am planning to keep out of the way as much as possible:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Oooo what are you knitting MG - congrats on project insulation by the way .
Seriously dank and grey here today which is a shame because the last three days have been beautiful. Thrifty Towers is the house of the unwell at the moment - I have shared my "bug" with ds and dd, they are both suffering in bed and dh is starting to sniff. Well what's mine is yours and all that :rotfl:.
Just been to the orange and black shop to buy a new radiator for dd's room. Unfortunately our repairs from a couple of week's ago did not last and the leak started again. Not Free-I-Y but £35 for a radiator is good compared with the cost of calling a plumber out. Onwards and upwards with lessons in self-sufficiency:p.
Hugs and positive vibes to all.0 -
I am knitting DS2 a hot chocolate colour cardi with a thin white and mint stripe - it looks like a chocolate lime LOL. But it matches a pair of "Maine" men's trousers from the pound rack so will make a cute outfit together (well when I cut them down from men's to toddlers obviously LOL).
TBH its a boring knit, but rattles together quite quickly and passes the time when watching telly of an evening.
I think all the excitement of getting DF has got to me - feeling a bit low and blah!!! So I have rootled out my S A D lamp and shall start using that in the morning for a bit and see if it lifts my motivation levels. Nothing wrong that I can put my finger on - just a case of the yucks

MG - please can I swap your case of the yucks for my day? Out of a staff level of 20, I am 7 members down today and it would seem that (in my capacity as manager) I am the only one who can answer any questions.... right down to "do we have any more toilet roll on order?"start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -

And I do hope the answer is 'Yes, panic not!'
MG: It's probably partly reaction to getting right to the top a hill and feeling so pleased.
Then you look and, ahead of you, is a bl00dy mountain. You know you can do it but you just want a little rest first.
Also, you are doing far more, physically and mentally than most folk do and wearing so many hats that you must have difficulty keeping up with them. Take a little time to get back into gear. Listen to Granny!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0
