All knitting is just plain and purl, so you'll be just fine :)

I'm still struggling with plain and purl but I don't think my arm will cope with knitting a jumper to be honest

That is not only factually correct - but pretty deep if you think about it.

Going back a few pages, I am 2,299,867,312th and my new granddaughter is (it says) 6,973,812,407th. I thought we were supposed to have gone past the 7 billion?

Ah, well, it's a mahoosive number in any case!
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

3,665,023,685th which makes me feel both old and young at the same time!

Am sitting here feeling very MSE today, made homemade pizza and garlic bread last night from AFoods pizza mix and am now making a big batch of bolognaise sauce bulked out with carrots and oats for the first time and now have a mahoosive pan of the stuff and only with a bit of added stuff so am well impressed:T

Interesting times at work atm as boss has family probs and won't be in much this week, leaving me in charge. Tomorrow we get a big award and loads of VIPS are descending on us for a special celebration event which I am now leading - so positive vibes for me a) remembering everything I have to turn up with including a 15 person buffet b) being able to speak in front of them all positively and confidently and c) cope with anything else that turns up to confuse things on the day! I already have a positive and comfy outfit to wear, and my purple "I'm the boss" socks which will make all the difference:p

Positive vibes and a big hug for you Dorastar. You'll be fine especially with the purple"I am the boss" socks.

I've been very MSE in the last couple of days - was given loads of dried fruit from the late old ladies house and made a Christmas cake with it(still got icing left over from birthday cakes) -so Christmas cake cost zero:jthen thought there is so much fruit I'll make a Christmas pud- result 2 medium and 2 small puds - thank goodness I halved the recipe and cost to me -zero:j:j:j
Eggs were from our farmer friend who's hens are prolific layers - booze was given to us and left overs.:j

    Hi all,

Have been to college and went for a quick drink with two of the guys afterwards. I think my project needs a lot of work.

I think the not going to work is starting to get to me a bit from the 'company' point of view. I see few people at the minute, although I am very busy. I shall have to see what I can do about that.

Best of luck with tomorrow (today) Dorastar, and well done on your frugal Christmas cake, robsmum. We still have to make ours, but at the rate mummy SunFlower is going, it's not likely to happen. *Sigh*

    Congratulations to Granny Tricia :T:T

    You must be so proud.

And what I am I doing up at this unearthly hour????? Good question.
Did a mystery shop last night & have just done the report before making (yet another) coffee - & a tea for DH so he can be woken up with that before heading off to work.

It's bloomin' freezing here but outside temperature reads at 7 degrees (where's my wee "o" that sites at apostrophe level for degrees????).

Having a not happy at work stage at the moment but suddenly at about 3.30 yesterday the thought pounced on me - THIS IS HELPING ME GET DF & PAY OFF MY MORTGAGE - so I can deal with this.......

Hopefully this attitude will last & grow & chase away the *mutter mutter I wan't to be at home* attitude.

So - Clootie's thought for day has been shared. Now I'm away to cuddle an unsuspecting Tora to warm up my hands - as I refuse to put the heating on in the morning (or at all for that matter - wood burning stoveland here......

    Have a good day y'all

Oh - while I remember - DH ordered a shirt tie type thing from Next (trust me - it was a surprise to me too) and it arrived yesterday but instead of a shirt/tie set, a blue shirt & a separate blue tie he received......

    shirt/tie set :j
    blue shirt :j
    pink fitted sheet :p

Now - I have tried but I cannae get a Windsor knot into the sheet - any ideas?

Sorry folks - but I just laughed as it really appealed to my sense of humour - simple things & all that
(tie has now been re-ordered & sheet has to be returned)

I always think our DF journey are like playing on a kids slide.

We decide at some point we don't want to be one of the wee kinds playing in the park(in debt) -we want to be one of the big kids brave enough to go on the big kids slide.( and be DF)

We gather stand at the bottom of the steps gathering our straggling shreds of bravery until we have a LBM and slowly start inching our way up the ladder - the first step being ever so hard, then before we know it we are standing at the top of the slide and can look around. We have come so far but are not quite there yet.

High up there we can begin to see a compelling future - a DF future, but it involves a change of mindset (JUst like to flash of inspiration that Clootie had) before we are ready to be brave enough to sit down and push off into our future.

The journey down the slide becomes faster and faster as we are now motivated and focussed to snowball our debts and we come shooting off the end of the slide squealing with delight.

So who is with me - who wants to go slide down a slide today LOL

Had a good laugh about the pink sheet Clootie.

The young family came and had a look at the house on Saturday. It's not for them, I think, but later that day I got a note through the door from a couple who saw the house twice in June. Long story cut short, they came on Sunday for a third (lengthy) viewing, and they will be in a position to offer if they receive a promised offer for their house. But everything happens for a reason - if I hadn't had the first viewing on saturday, the house wouldn't have been in such good shape for the unexpected extra viewing on Sunday.

So please send lots of "it's on its way and is definitely going to happen" vibes for both offers. Then I'll be able to scoot along to the lovely development where there is one wee house which I'd love to put my name to.

    Exciting times!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.
