with all the knitting chat I am planning a project of my own - going to knit a blanket for my gran's 80th birthday :) I've got 2 months to go, reckon I will need 24 12"x12" squares so best get started :rotfl:

I've not knitted for some years but did manage to make my ex hubs a nice jumper for our 1st married Christmas as we were so skint :rotfl: he got the finished item in about february....!

hope your knitting is coming on OK Claire :)

I'm being cool - they are still talking "nickle and diming" - trouble is they are 4 figures in a hole.

Ha! Edit Piaf always said that she loves faster than she knits (explaining why she never managed to finish the jumpers she was knitting for her lovers). At least you finished the jumper; well, you started it. I only buy them (when skint OH goes without).

I have ceilings. Lovely flat ceilings :) in my small bedroom, on the landing and stairs. The hall ceiling will be done tomorrow. The first one is dry, so painting can start on Friday and the handyman has just called to say he got my message and will be over first thing tomorrow to check colours and plan, so hopefully the small room, hall and landing will be painted by the end of next week :D and in theory the utility room will be back together too. Just need to get the plasterer booked to come back and do the last room... I'm beginning to think there is an outside chance it'll be done by the time I go into hospital!

Now I need to summon up the energy to sack the window cleaner (again ... He failed to notice the first time) and resign as a school governor as it doesn't fit with my hospital appointments so haven't been for months.

Off to see my olds tomorrow and they want to take dd shopping for clothes on mums bhs card (who am I to argue), then they want to take us out for lunch, then back to theirs for a play - sounds like a nice easy day for me apart from the drive over and back but dd has planned our 4 hour car karaoke!

All done - and managed to steer them into planning a little bigger without scaring them too much. Goodness me, ladies can talk.
