    Good Evening Matrix

MG - Love the sofa. You are so talented.

I really don't understand what motivates someone to poison animals indiscriminately. Power? Misplaced revenge? Mindess vandalism?

Had a stressy day here. Had a bad night troubled by horrid dreams. My back is not happy just now, my shoulder is very sore and I have a headache - just muscles, I think, but still very uncomfortable. Not good start.
Committee meeting this morning that seemed to go on forever. So much to discuss and I had to get it all straight as I'm secretary and have to produce the minutes. Got back for a late lunch and then decided to get a first draft on the computer to start to unscramble my mind. Relieved that's out of the way but still sore and hoping for an early night.

It's no walk in the park, this retirement lark you know!. Suppose I'm just out of practice as everyday was probably equally stressful when I was at work. At least someone else wrote up minutes!!!!

Claire - hope the knitting sorts itself out. Can't quite fathom MG's joke but maybe if I think about it lond enough............

    Happy birthday Mr F!

Like hex I currently have plaster dust everywhere :( but no more hole in the ceiling :j one room is done  but the landing and stairs need doing, then downstairs where he's just going to tidy it up, and then the other bedroom. Which is currently full of stuff that I need to move into the other room (remember I can't out anything on the landing, or in the hall AND I need to work. I might ask him to put it off until I get back from my next work trip.

Utility room is in bits. Floor has been levelled with a screed, which is now drying. Machinery is blocking access to all cupboards (it was blocking access to the freezer, but I've solved that as I need to eat). Plumbing is being done on Saturday morning, so hopefully I will have a washing machine, TD and DW soon after that. I need to clean the dryer hose outlet, dryer hose and backs of the machines before they go back in. My ancient WM still has a hot fill as well as cold, so hot washes are cheap using gas-heated water :D

During all this the cleaner managed to get the bathroom, my bedroom, the loo, the living room and accessible bits of the kitchen cleaned. Including the windows, the loo window frame as the blind is down and we emptied 3 bookcases, killed the spiders, cleaned the shelves and I've just finished putting the books back (having cleared out a few books and DVDs I no long want/need).

So despite all the work, the house is mostly clean. I need to rehome a pile of coats before I can go to bed, and I know I will have people annoying me in the house for the rest of this week and too much of next, but it's starting to come together!
