clairewop, you did better than me, our Mr M was heaving and i just gave up without buying the planned fresh yeast and half price chickens. We keep using mince on meat balls and sauces if this helps, the breadcrumbs bulk it out a lot., also HM savoury pancakes as again you can bulk it out. Called in the co-op and got 4X beef shin RTC at £1.38, and 2 X 3 huge chicken quarters at £1.50 for the freezer so not a complete waste.

3rd load on the line here too. Best lot of bread yet as well - cheapest as well, dried yeast and the most basic recipe so no logic to it.

This month we absolutely have to live bargain basement. Taking a lot of inspiration from Lark Rise to Candleford which I hadn't read before.

Aaargh!!!! Left the washing machine all set up with vinegar and washing soda to run through at a 90 wash (do it every quarter to keep it smelling sweet) ............... and forgot to set it running before I went to visit with Clootie.

Well its running now - but I bet I don't get the last load of washing on till bedtime now.

Kids want spag bol for dinner - suits me fine, just call me Mama Ping!!! Got a couple of leftover drop scones that they can have for afters - so off to put on some bread for breakfast and have agood looooong hard think about the sofa project.

Does anybody happen to know what the recipe on the T*sco groceries on line website was for pork steaks with caramalised apples - I bought all the bloomin ingredients for a bargain £5 ( cost more than £10 normally) but went to website ready to start tea and link is broken .

I gave the sage to friend - cos I have loads in garden but you had to buy it to get the deal:o) who insisted on giving me 50 p for it so I guess it only cost me £4.50 :) I have put meat in freezer now and other ingredients will be used up OK - justy feel cheated :D

Souk, all will be fine. I have a Finish friend who is very wise (unfortunately she does not live according to her wisdom). When I was in a panic over something she said: 'don't worry too much! Life has this ability to work out and problems to resolve themselves.'

Thinking about it, I prefer the old Maori saying 'If there is no solution, there is no problem.'

Look after self and keep applying (but you will hear soon no doubt).

Morning ladies -still raining here but looking brighter all the time.

Which is more than my Bank Account is looking - I have all my DD's set to come out at the beginning of the month and it is always an Eeeep!!! moment. Just as well I have a huge project to keep me busy and out of the shops this week.

All DD's paid, £40 saved pounds into the holiday purse for the boys half-term, ten pounds in my "Adventure from the pound rack" wallet and an Approved Foods order due just after lunch - so today has most definitely NOT been a NSD.

Last day of term so loads to do to get organised - not including the sofa challenge that begins in earnest today - and a massive pile of ironing to clear too at some point.

    Sofa costs

    3 fabric dyes at 90p = £2.70
2 Gifted fabric dyes = £0.00 (Thanks Clootie - thanks Mum)
    3 x 15m of nylon cord fr piping £3.00

    Total so far £5.70:T

    But first -coffee.

I keep looking at "sofa project" and imagining my sofa project which would involve lying on the sofa holding the remote with snacks/books/drinks to keep me there apart from toilet breaks........

    Last day of term?????

I managed to list 18 items (camera ) on flee-bay and have lots of watchers and 4 bids :j This morning I had an e-mail asking if I'd accept £60 BIN on a £4.99 item *swoon* It already has a bid so I said sorry, no. We've found that these items (1960-70's toy cars of Popeye's) reach their value no matter what I start them at. i.e some go for 99p/don't sell, others go for £80+ But this is a surprisingly popular one in playworn condition - just rare :rotfl:
