Will do! And yes, I saw that link, but that's not it at all - that's more like a cook-in sauce. I scoured that whole website, but didn't see it.

Also, oh wise kitchen one, I realised that the glaze would be different from marinading. If that recipe you linked me to is one you have tried out, would you marinade the meat and make the glaze, or just do one, as if not I have to drive half an hour to pick up some mirin. :( (Oh, that's just for the sauce link, I see. But I don't have any sherry, so I would still have to fetch that, but I can get that from a normal supermarket.)

    Thanks, TMIF! :T
  • Do you mean the glaze in the chicken/noodle recipe? Use the bottle of teriyaki sauce you have instead and add a little honey :) No need to marinade, unless you want to :)

No point going to the shops if you don't need to. THey've used Sherry in their recipe instead of the Mirrin (the Japanese wine - which you can get at sainsburys, you don't need to go to a special oriental shop)
  • Haha - wise kitchen one! lol

!!!!!! would disagree - he would call me "messy, user of every pot in the kitchen, and filler of the bin" one

TMIF, this sounds like MrF - cooks really well and like to do it but the kitchen needs serious attention afterwards (and all pots and pans have been used).

Has he SEEN other men cook?! :p

Chicken marinading in fridge, dog about to get walked and supermarket about to be visited. In that order. Right after paying my respects to the water closet. ;)

Oh dear sorry to hear that Claire, wasn't it useful at all??

I have completely forgotten what a sun trap friends patio was. I need a very large glass of something very cold as I am sweltering, if not a wee bit pink :o

Not really Bitsy, she is going to do the calculator again after her meeting and next appointment and ring me, but she thinks I will be worse off coming off IB.

Claire - you'd think they would be able to sort out the finance side and let you know. It shows that the system is *very* confusing, so how do they expect the general public to understand it.

Souk - good luck with the second interview.

To all - I too am fairly certain that ani26 is a guy. I've lurked on the thread and wish I could help, but have little knowledge of bankruptcy and repossession etc. As for the support, its a bit like those of you who have an OH who doesn't understand the debt busting. Or a friend who is deeply in debt and still spending. You can't have the LBM for them, they have to be ready to accept help and if you want to , you just have to wait and be there at the time.

I'll go back to lurking now.

Okay not sure if I am too late, but if you want to do Japanese why not do roll your own Sushi? Basically make the sushi rice (and you can buy the sushi vinegar), make sure you have the seaweed wrapping paper and lots of yummy fillings (thinly sliced pepper, avocado, beansprouts, smoked salmon, whatever you want!)

Hmm I have a recipe for slow simmered shiitake mushroom but that takes 24 hours
