For your chicken/noodle affair, what about Teriyaki. Lovely. Simple. Can put whatever veg you want with it as well. As an example:

Super, TMIF: that's exactly the type of thing I was looking for.
I found something similar in my Wagamama book, but the amount of sauces you have to make up for it is a bit too much for a last-minute job like today. I'll try it another time.
So tonight's menu:
Smoked salmon and avocado maki
Chicken teriyaki
Poached pears in chocolate sauce
I bought a small bottle of teriyaki sauce at the Chinese supermarket last week and I am wondering if I can use it to marinade the meat and save me a job later, but the only thing is I cannot find instructions on the bottle and it doesn't say that it's a marinade. (And I can't find a picture of it on the net to link to it). I'm not sure if it's a dipping sauce or not as there is only 150ml of it, but I've never heard of a teriyaki dipping sauce before.
And ideas, peeps?0 -
Helllooooooooooooooo MIKE (said in the tone of Michael McIntyre greeting Wembley)!
It is so lovely to see you over here and what a beautiful post. There are several people here who need to hear that things can improve from somebody who has been in the place that they are right now. So thank you for taking that time to share your thoughts (if not sharing what exactly is in the man bag)
Sometimes in life we feel strong enough to help support others and sometimes we just dont have the energy to keep trying where negativity is the constant response and I agree that the right thing to do at that point might be to withdraw. I am currently in a similar situation (I am hiding if the truth be known) because I don't have any more to give to a certain person in RL. It is hard sometimes but the good thing about this thread and MSE in general is that there are enough people to take the baton at different times. The very fact that there are so many people means that one of us can say exactly the same thing to somebody that has been said several times but at that moment it could be the penny dropping for the other person. For this reason and this alone I would urge anybody to make up their own mind about a situation or person needing help.
Sometimes I haven't the time or energy to repeat advice to someone who keeps asking the same questions. In that case they can wait.
There are people I know are bad for me and I increase the volume slowly until they can hear that I'm saying we've come to the end of the road as friends.
And there are probably people who aren't worth helping. But I've never met one.0 -
Teriyaki sauce is easy to make
Soy Sauce
Mirin (or sake with brown sugar)
More sugar
.. and I add honey as well if it's a glaze
The official recipe: http://japanesefood.about.com/od/teriyakisauce/r/teriyakisauce.htm
Just stir it in a bowl and dip your chicken in
(I like Japanese food! (except sushi!))0 -
PEOPLE COME INTO YOUR LIFE FOR A REASON
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at
an inconvenient time, this person will say or do
something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON,
because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.!
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,
things you must build upon in order to have a solid
emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the
lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all
other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -

Thanks, TMIF, that's great, but I am v. busy today and trying to save time. Do you think I can marinade my chicken with my pre-bought sauce, or does it sound like I've picked up some sort of dipping sauce not intended for marinading? (Hard to tell, I know, but still...;) ).0 -

My reading is that her "control drama" is how badly she feels done to, and that she is not ready yet to make different choices. If she gets to the stage she would like the support of you lovelies I hope she finds her way on here.
MG
Hi MG, Ani 26 is a guy (I think). He used to call himself 'Nohope' and I thought that changing to Ani (which somehow has to do with classic cars but I am not sure how) was a positive step. Yes, he is in the 'it is so unfair' stage but my feeling is that there is combination of many things there. One is that he is very down and very 'closed'.
I hope he hears Mike - otherwise it is very hard to get through to him. On the rest, you are probably right except that you can visit without engaging with other visitors.
Hope the homework and the rest is going well.
