  • I had a Japanese dinner party recently - and we had poached pears with chocolate sauce. I will look for the recipe, but I have a feeling it's in a cookbook at home.

Waganama I think... google it, it's delicious :) (It was Japanese honestly!)
  • My recipe had Sake in the syrup, but this one is quite similar

I know it can look like people not wanting to help themselves, but honestly, Bitsy, there are depths and places that some people go to, that others don't, because they don't have the need to.

Can I please make a general appeal not to judge? Protect yourselves, by all means, think about and assess whats going on, naturally, but I'm getting uncomfortable with the tone here. Fantasia did *not* get this reception when she was so distressed and nothing shifted it, so recently.

TMIF, you total genius! I've just realised that I have a Wagamama cookbook in my room. I've never used it, either.

I think today it will start earning its keep! :D

I will take a peep at that recipe, and I think I have a recipe for something similar myself in a copy of 'Simple to Sensational' by Jun Tanaka.

Oooh, I could hug you, if you weren't so far away. :D:D

I just came on to say the same thing - I don't think it's very fair to be discussing another poster like this on a thread. Fair enough to ignore/ not read what you choose to, but how would you feel if you came on another thread and saw yourself being 'debated'?

I'll take the virtual hug :)

We're having ribs for dinner tonight - made the marinade last night, and my hands still smell of garlic :D

Yes I agree Mike - lovely to see you functioning on more than half a cylinder. Glad you're loving your home, talking about things and striving more your "more" :)

Also - glad you had fun this weekend ;) How's your pet rodent, did he also have fun :) (name forgotten)

    Neville?

    He's fine.

Looks lush. I could have done something like that, but I pre-emptively defrosted some chicken breasts, and now can't find any chicken-based noodle recipes. Hmm...

Am taking the poached pear idea for desert. Thanks! :D

Am still searching for my main recipe.

Is one type of maki enough to serve for starter only I'm starting to realise that sushi-grade fishmongers are a rarity. :o :rotfl:
