  • Afternoon Matrix. Am feeling a wee bit despondent today. Largely because LadyJ is leaving on maternity leave today, and I am hugely jealous that it is her and not me who is leaving. I want to leave work and have a baby. :( Trying to look on the upside ie LadyJ is off and I don't have to sit next to her and deal with her stupid moods and assorted carp... but... I want it to be me. :(:(:(

Having said that, totally with TMIF on being scared of a) having one in the first place and b) the HUGE responsibility of looking after it afterwards. People assure me I would make a good Mum, but the thought of it all absolutely terrifies me!! :(

Going to drown myself in my work for the rest of the afternoon.

Cricket, I don't often post here, but I just wanted you to know I feel the same way. I don't have a partner and am unlikely to meet someone now, I dreamt of having children and have seen all my friends have babies. On Saturday I am going to a BBQ to celebrate the pregnancy of a friend.

When i think about being pregnant I feel very scared at the prospect. Funny really. Getting fat, watching what to eat. but the idea of actually never having kids, well thats pretty awful too.

Just wanted you to know you weren't the only one.

    hugs xxxxxx

Crickett: Hugs for you it must be very hard.

    De-cluttering:
Does destroying 2 entire flower beds and a trellis count as de-cluttering?:eek:It was part of the Autumn plan to really tidy up the patio area and change the beds into a herb garden but has happened a bit prematurely:eek:Hopefully, B.I.L will be responsive and build my replacement trellis sooner rather than later now.
Next step is to dig out and pot up any plants I want to keep and then seriously feed it. I feel a farmyard delivery coming on:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Fortunately, rain has now stopped play.

Perfectly normal to feel scared about the responsibility of littlies BTW - think it proves you have actually though about it rationally.

Got both mine at home now - so off to do some Mummy stuff for an hour or so before making dinner. Plan was to do toad in the hole, but DS1 has come home looking for some more of the dal and rice he had for lunch - think it was a hit.

Have been busy all day cleaning the kitchen cupboards. Over half way there now so having a little break.

sorted out the medical shelf of OOD stuff
started a little list to restock the store cupboards

Need to think of some recipes to use up some pulses I bought when trying to improve my diet and didn't succeed:o:o

Hugs to all those wanting babies but can't or are scared. Just think people would not have more than one if it was that awful would they;).

I agree with Thrifty the problems never go away they just change over time. They worry about which preschool seems irrelevant now we are looking at universities. The they won't sleep seems daft now they have to be woken every morning. They won't eat green veg seems daft now that the plates are always empty but they were all so stressful at the time:rotfl:

there are lentil recipes on MG's blog Dusty. We made her give them to us!

OH has fixed the loo seat, sorted out one of the lights, adjusted the cabinet door (needs work, but he's here for longer next week...) and worked out how to fix the corner caddy which we will do next week. Need to break the news to him that we'll be putting the blind up next week too :)

He's got counselling tonight, so isn't staying, but we're managing to see a bit more of each other which is nice.

  • A contract arrived this morning (by email) by one of the Legal Beagle Mentors. Its written in hilarious "mock legal latin" - honestly would make a terrific 20 minute stand-up at the Fringe.

Basically - its a "sign here if you really ARE going to do the "MFi3" challenge - or are you going to keep wavering?"

So what do you think Matrixettes - are we up for this??

    MG

Okay MG - after much wavering - whispers game on

Imagine me, stood at top of cliff stretching one leg down, quickly pulling leg back up then stretching down with the other leg, giving up, rolling over onto belly and stretching down backwards with toes to find a secure ledge :o

I don't do jumping off cliffs or having a helping shove off :rotfl:

Okay off the top of my head (these are just for me)....

Starting date Wed 7th Sept as dd will have gone back to school and dh back to work after his jollidays.

Anything I do has to involve / work around ds - so he will have to be told that going for walks and getting lost is not helping us make money :rotfl:.

We are currently reducing our mortgage overpayments as funds are that tight round here, it is chafing like wearing a thong 3 sizes too small  So the deal is whatever we reduce the mortgage payments by, I aim to replace this with money earnt NOT by cutting back.

Also I need to make this a fun, motivating, energising exercise that ties in with my main aim of improving our quality of life.

So there we go, no going back now - will report back here or maybe start a thread on t'other side.

Now duty calls, must go and sort out wet washing and cook up and freeze some almost manky mushrooms before I lose them.
  • What a loverly afternoon its turned out to be im on with the washing i think il do some ironing oh is attending some network meetings and then some sort of toast masters meeting helps if you arent great at speaking etc :) some people are built for speaking in large groups others need a little help :) happy late afternoon to all xx
