Hex I will get the details but it was in a book possibly by Pat Stimpson who grades her walks 1-3 where 1 is fairly level
we started at Monsal Head, walked to Little Longstone then through fields to Rowland, down (gently) to the Toll Bar House on the A 6020 (or 6120) hooked up with the Monsal Trail for a mile (past Thornbridge Hall) then back round to Little Longstone - all inclines gentle. Was a 5 miler but easy peasy.

    Edit Pat Tisdall

I will get the ISBN off my mate -was really gentle!

She describes the walks (Pat that is) well also there's plenty of interest what with the tea room and stuff up on Monsall head.

    Hi all

Back from our holiday so thought I'd pop in and see how you are all doing.

Hope all those having birthdays and their kids have had a good time.

Need to get on with some serious cleaning and decluttering in the next couple of weeks and of course get shoes/trainers for the boys (one of my least favourite jobs).

Think I've got moths resident as clothes have holes appearing in them so tomorrow I need to decide whether to attempt to tackle this ourselves or get Mr Aardvark in.

Love to all but especially Toots and LadyL.

Hi to serena, Hex, valli, Kaz, Lil_me and MrsChaos

Sounds like a lovely walk, valli. DS2 finished a D of E thing at Monsal Head and I've wanted to go back there ever since.

Going to make some toast for DS2 and OH, who hasn't eaten much today, then I'll investigate the ironing and put some clothes away. I'm not planning on being up late - anything not done will have to wait until the morning (also, there is an iron in the flat we are staying in), as I'll be the only driver and it will take us at least 4.5 hours to get there (including two generous breaks). OH's friends suggested that he shouldn't notify the DVLA of his illness. Stupid people!

Phoned my dad for a lend of ( the things to hold the doors) can't remember the name. Anyway i can lift them on monday and make a start at painting the doors.. Need to completely clear our room out and take the old boarder down. I really want our room done before the kids go back to school and the courses start. Could i get it done if four weeks....
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

    Evening,
Glad you had a nice hol dusty
Sounds like a nice walk Valli - DH wants me to go walking with him again. We haven't been for ages. He brought a book of walks in the other day. I was looking for the flat short ones:rotfl:
He wants to stride out,and I just feel like I hold him up.....
He's a lot younger than I am (ssh);)

Haven't done much flying tonight. Have decided to get up early and go for it.....
Haven't even made our bed 'cos every time I look there's been a cat on it.
Going to go and fill the WM ready for first thing.....wonder what the weather will do?
Oh I did actually clean a small appliance!! Go me!
Have a lovely hol Mrs C

well I gotta say that living here - t'would be a waste of a life if I didn't enjoy a ramble

and it's VERY mes because I wear DS's outgrown boots - must eb down to pennies per wear by now - they have stream scrambled and had little adventures all on their own (like being taken a ride when they should ahve stayed on a residential with me!)

anyhoo just checked in to keep an eye on flea bay

    night night all
and in my thoughts (as always) Toots, Lady Liberty and Lamewolf

Bathroom isn't finished but the new bath (which I cleaned before using) is fab. Fits in the same space as the old one but is wider internally with narrow edges. Comfortable sloping back for reading in the bath :D and the low pressure taps really do help it fill up faster (the bubble bath bubbles and everything). Whatever was adding nasty black bits to the water has gone, and it appears to empty faster too.

So I'm now clean after a week with no bathroom at all. I hope the low pressure shower head will also make a difference. I just need to check whether a different hose would help too...

New towels and bathroom accessories may well be on the list for Christmas! Although I do have masses of towels already... Maybe I should donate the more ancient ones to my dad's dog...
  • Heh...back from pub.

Decluttered [mumble] pints and listened to a blues band, without feeling a complete Billy No-Mates. Caught bus back just in time for the takeaway and to evade some rather nice looking guy trying to get my phone number (Come on, random stranger in the kebab shop? Even I have standards!)

Stuffed face and opened up MSE to see someone has reported me for bullying him - the same person who called me a 'pro-black racist', I would imagine. So they can call me a sanitised version of the 1970s _____-lover, but I can't disagree with him on the grounds of me actually having studied the subject he is pontificating his nasty little views over?

Pah! And they wonder why people leave the forum in a huff!
