  • Evening all, have been lurking and catching up on a few pages of news and of course doing a bit of flying this week mainly just trying to keep tidy what already is tidy. Not doing bad considering it is the hols. Although I had to laugh this morning Our elderly cat(19) in the winter months couldn't be bothered to go out the cat flap to do her business and started going in the bath (at least it was easy to clean) so we got her a litter tray for the first time ever and I have managed to clean it out every morning, today I decided to wash it out and left it outside to dry because some of the litter was ok to reuse i put it in a carrier bag and left in back hallway near the open back door to put back in the tray when it was dry. A couple of hours later I heard what I thought was the sound of litter being dug it and thought oh no fluff needs to use the tray and I have left it outside I dived through to the hallway to find fluff with all four paws in the carrier bag trying to do her business unfortunately it wasn't big enough and despite her best efforts she weed over the edge of the bag. Good job we have tiles and I was about to wash the floor. Trouble was it was a lovely day and the back door was open but she insisted on trying to climb into the carrier bag - daft cat I just had to laugh. She behaves like a kitten instead of a geriatric cat sometimes.

Oh well off to update my flying list with what I have down this week I have managed one frog - I defrosted the freezer tuesday took just an hour because of a little trick I learnt somewhere else on MSE when you have defrosted freezer wipe inside dry and then wipe over with fabric softner - sounds daft but honestly it doesn't smell or taint your food and next time you defrost it the ice comes off alot easier and quicker. Hope that helps someone I used to dread defrosting the freezer - not my favourite task still but a lot quicker now :-))
Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

Make it a HHC 20.00-20.30 Holly, and make yourself get it done. Congrats on the houe btw.

On which subject I must fill the DW, and the WM, and make our bed.

Hi all, happy friday. Lugged two huge bags of shredding to work today, shredded the lot and then went through my desk and shredded some more so three confidential waste bags filled and one binbag.

Currently waiting for DD1 to get ready for work, her boyfriend is playing a local gig so I may pop down the pub later for a very quick peek round the door to show my support.

Booked some leave also today to be organised and planning ahead.

Holly - great news about the house.
Well done, valli. DS1 just came in asking for food. I asked for laundry in return and kept custody of the filled plate until mucky washing was surrendered. :D

OH is home - I have the feeling that this is going to be a long summer and I may have to take the odd mug into the back yard and reduce it to smithereens. :o MIL has complained to him about us going on holiday tomorrow. She doesn't get that he's better away from work and the club, as he's much too likely to get staight back into things. I know she's worried, but I think it will do him good.

Going to have a look at what's left now.

find OH's birth cert (for pension scheme application, so it's important)
[STRIKE]GP's re sicknote once OH is out of hospital[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]make sure OH has all his meds (check about patches)[/STRIKE] collecting new angina spray tmw
[STRIKE]print off form for DVLA (have to be notified of his condition)[/STRIKE] now needs to be filled in
[STRIKE]print off directions to resort and confirmation for accommodation[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]print off car insurance details[/STRIKE]
    find breakdown cover details
    [STRIKE]print off other holiday info[/STRIKE]
    check mail
    wash, dry and iron
    put clothes away
    [STRIKE]take DS2 for swimming lesson :D (haven't watched him for 2 weeks)[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]collect DS2's swimming pass from friend who took him last week[/STRIKE] can't find it, but it's the last lesson next week, anyway
    holiday-related shopping - don't need much
    [STRIKE]bank for kids spending money[/STRIKE]
    write packing list
    shower

Lots left, but at least we're not planning on going before 11am. Packing list next, I think.

re the puddytats- I am always VERY grateful when they decide to use the bath which my older cat does.

Somewhere I have walk pics. We found an idyllic tea shop (which is also a B&B) and the walk was excellent - not hilly really (a miracle for hereabouts) chippy tea has been scoffed - in moneysaving mode though - 3 minish were ordered and 1 portion of chips - between 3 of us!

Anyway duvet cover is still on the line (for this is the flylady who got a black kitten and a cream duvet cover around the same time) so in a minute I'm going to get it.iron it and make my bed ( and my bedroom smells divine for I was a lucky teacher and got a reed diffuser set)

DD is now ranting about the evil cow who is mother to Carrie - feel massive 'appreciate your lovely mum' session coming on (Sky box being decluttered as asked nice man on courtesy call about code which turned out to be same as pin which I set then promptly forgot.)

Details please - I love walking in your area but just cannot cope with the hills in my cranky state.

Bed made, more washing in and the DW on.

    HollyH have you packed yet?

    Countdown to holiday list:

[STRIKE]find OH's birth cert (for pension scheme application, so it's important)[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]collect OH's new angina spray [/STRIKE]
fill in DVLA form (when I can find a black pen - DS2 has lost the key to the cupboard where I keep pens :o)
    [STRIKE]finish OH's sickness benefit claim[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]post office[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]find breakdown cover details[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]phone accommodation to confirm arrival[/STRIKE]
    check mail
wash, dry and iron - WM on, one more lot after that and then towels in the morning
    put clothes away
buy large bottle of water to top up small bottles
    [STRIKE]holiday-related shopping - don't need much[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]write packing list[/STRIKE]
    get cash
    [STRIKE]bath[/STRIKE]
talk to NN's son about feeding cat and watering plants
    [STRIKE]sleep - as I'll be driving![/STRIKE]

Not sure I'll get all of this done - especially the DVLA form for OH's illness and other paperwork. It looks like a real pain to do.
We're taking some food/drink with us (tea, sugar - stuff we have in anyway), but there's a Mr T's in the town and I'll go shopping once we're settled in. Can't afford to eat out all the time.

Time to get DS2 out of the bath now. No rest for the wicked.
