Thats great Holly, hopefully you will be able to enjoy your holiday properly now0

Oh that's good news holly
When we moved here we had a choice of 2 houses - one had much bigger bedrooms, but less space downstairs (integral garage with a bedroom over) and the other had smaller bedrooms but a much bigger downstairs. We plumped for a bigger downstairs on the basis that bedrooms are mainly used for sleeping in
Right, in my HHC I:- Vacuumed our bedroom, landing, bathroom and stairs down to first floor (including vacuuming teh skirting boards with teh fluffy brush)
- dusted, dewebbed and polished (all real wood furniture) in the above - inc polishing mirrors
- tidied floordrobe (only shoes, bags and boots)
- put away a pile of laundry languishing on the chair
- hung DH's dressing gown and a hoodie
- straightened my hair - and put straigtheners away
- tidied tall chest of drawers (top of) - including making all my jewellery fit in my jewellery box!
)
- brought a couple of random items downstairs to correctly rehome

Went and made an executive decision today and bought Minion's new curtains. Spent an insane amount on them, but they are 90" long and fully lined, so they should keep light and draughts out of her pit all winter. Well, they were originally £80    but as the store was closing down, the woman at the till didn't really seem to care too much and rang them and a long voile for the kitchen door up for a total of £38.50 :j:j:j:
Wish my binmen visited at 8am...anytime between 5.30 and 6.15 here, as it's about 10 minutes from the depot.
Put the bins out. Far less than when Minion is around, surprisingly enough
I've decluttered some curried goat, rice & peas, plantain and dumpling (I do love the variety of food available round here).
WM x 1
Put the new voile up. Explained to the stooopid splat how to get around a floor length voile.
Found a corner of nastiness in the shower room where fluffy twit got in a state because she had a soft 'one' get over her back fluff and tried to scoot it off on the floor _pale_, so cleaned that and threatened to bath the offending monster, but she seems to have got it all off somewhere
Now trying to conserve my energy before venturing out tonight - blues band on at one of the nearest pubs at 8pm, so shall go and try not to look a complete loser there by myselfI could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Washing on line, contracts signed (she changed her mind again:mad:), packed & now en route to our dirty weekend
:D
I doubt I will be posting much this weekend
Hugs & spoons to those that need them, good news re the house Holly
I will probably see you on the next thread!!0 -
oo the power..
I have been out all day (Walking Monsal head/Great Longstone/Little Longstone)
I have come in
sink (left empty this am by me I swear) full of pots.
So I emptied the drainer (which I left full) and I pegged out the bedding then I came in to check e bay.
DD 'Mum, what are we having for tea?'
Valli 'nothing while there are pots to be washed'
DD *mutters* 'for ***'* sake'
THEN WALKS INTO KITCHEN AND STARTS TO WASH POTS

I have 3 [STRIKE]reprobates[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]little £$%($[/STRIKE] darling puddycats. One is extremely fluffy and left something I really didn't want over the shower room floor.
I whinge about them frequently
They are currently snoring peacefully, one on my toes, one a yard away on the rug and one on the other sofa. Why they aren't in the garden, I don't know, but they only go out there if I do.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Insane amount of money on curtains.... one pair of full length curtains (lined with blackout material) and one short pair of matching curtains custom made for standard (ie: non-wide) windows... from Laura Ashley with wine-glass tops(?) (or similar - triple width fabric needed)... £1600 & £100 for 2 pairs of (never used) matching tie-backs....:eek::eek::eek:
Loved them - wanted to use them in this house (hung for about 18 months in old house) - too small for all the bloomin' windows here!!:mad::mad: Lived in airing cupboard for 3.5 years before fleabaying them for a total of about £90_pale__pale_I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
