  • Hey everyone,
I was so close to NSD 4 in a row yesterday! Then bf phoned and said he was coming round after work, I didn't have any food in as spent the whole day cleaning and was going to do food shop today, so I nipped to tesco and bought a couple of pizzas for dinner.
But then today did my food shop and had to pay on my card as didn't have enough cash :( I was 50p over what I had, and I was doing so well budgeting. If I was sensible and did food shop yesterday as planned, I wouldn't have spent the extra £3.50 and would have had a NSD day today. Also I've been living within my weekly cash budget for weeks now, and not used debit card for ages.
I'm surprised by how annoyed I am with myself, so I am going to plan my food shops even more now.
It was nice to see the bf though :) and he had just worked a 12 hour shift, so he deserved to have some filling food and not just cheese on toast or something!
Off to visit a NT house today, so no more spending for me :)
have a lovely day everyone, the sun is shining here!

  • Today has turned into a spend day.I went for brunch with my neighbour and her daughter.I stuffed myself silly as was paying 30 francs flat-fee,so I think that I got my money's worth.A lovely selection of local produce.

There were about four rolls/croissants left which we wanted to take with us.However we were told quite categorically that this was not allowed. The leftovers go to the pigs apparently.Does this happen in Britain?I suppose that I shouldn't be surprised, this being Switzerland, and everything being done by the rules....

I suppose we could have smuggled them out,but decided not to.I am trying to watch my figure...:o

Also had a lovely short train journey to get there. We are currently in the middle of a heatwave here.Too much for me;back home now with the shutters drawn and the windows shut.

All that to say that I'm still at #12.

    Hope you're having a great Sunday.

Afternoon all - OMG how is it that time already?! Up late this morning but dishwasher emptied, wash on and just had a yummy roll with sausage and a cuppa. Found last week that the big Tesco Extra in the next town does Scotch Morning Rolls (anyone north of the boarder will know exactly what I mean) and they a yummy! So bought two packs yesterday, had one last night with some Seriously Strong cheese, just like being at my FIL :D

Me feeling a little less meh today, so bigs hugs to anyone who is still feeling a bit below par. Was planning to pop into town and get some cotton wipes but really can't be bothered, will just manage with baby wipes until tomorrow so on track for a NSD at last :)

marmite - we don't have anything like that near us but an all you can eat brunch sounds lovely. It's not really the 'done thing' in the UK to take food away (unlike the USA) but it's actually becoming more popular and I think I'd prob ask if I really wanted to these days (though I tend to clear my plate when out for a meal so it's not generally an option :rotfl:)

Ahhhh...sun has just come out so off to peg out the washing... bet the neighbours love the sight of my smalls blowing in the wind :rotfl:

Red - hope you had a lovely Friday evening with lots of good red wine and the hangover wasn’t too bad this morning.:)
Fingers crossed for an NSD tomorrow

    Hi solvent:beer:,

We had an excellent meal in Belfast thanks and washed it down with a couple of bottles of red. No hangover yesterday though thankfully, as I'm a professional Red drinker:D. I hope you and the rest of the NSD gang enjoy the rest of the weekend.

    Red:)

  • Decided I wanted a day away from a computer yesterday so didn't update my NSDs. It's amazing what a difference a day without a computer makes.

Anyway, I ended up spending on Friday which I wasn't planning on doing but the doctor called me & told me she was writing a prescription for me (nothing major) which meant I had to spend. :( As usual because I was forced to spend I went and bought a few bits but again I got whoopsied veg. I got 2 big bags of spinach for £1.20 so yesterday I made a big pan of soup & now have 6 portions in the freezer ready for lunches for work. :o

Yesterday I had to pay for postage but it was for an eb*y item so I'm not counting it as a spend and then today I had to spend but it was for a MS so again I'm not including it. Yesterday I was messing about on my phone & saw an app that I thought I wanted. When I clicked on it to download it I realised it was going to cost £1.99 which normally I wouldn't have thought twice about but because of this forum I realised it was going to be a complete waste & I didn't want to ruin a NSD for something I didn't need.

This is a really waffly post just to say I'm now at 12 NSDs. I'm really hoping I can get to Friday without anymore spending & then I'm having a big spend day on Friday as it's pay day.:j

NSD #8 today. Only 6 more to go.
Next 2 days will be spendy days though as I have swimming tomorrow and fat club on Tuesday. Going to try to get bits and pieces I need on these days as well as put a bit more petrol in the car so I don't run out on what could otherwise be a NSD.

8 luvverly NSDs in the bag!

Back to Chateau Nargle after a few days away, just what we all needed. Off work next week as well so lots of chances to catch up on odd jobs, catch up on chilling out, sort out DS's back-to-school stuff and catch up on the gossip here!

Beanie - sorry DS did not survive clearing. Maybe it's a sign from the Fates for him to consider alternative ventures?

CW - sorry about dog problems. I think allowing the organisation to rehome him for you is probably the most sensible option, as they will choose his new owner very carefully. Hopefully the medical problem will soon be resolved - but at least it has given you a little longer with the dog.

Thanks to all those who sent supportive messages when I heard about my DD's predicament.
Current situation? Well, my DD is staying with a friend at present, and her grandfather is helping her with the rent money she needs for the marital flat (she and her DH split the rent between them). Her next batch of student loan has been agreed so she at least has some income to look forward to.

It has been an emotional week as some inaccurate tales have been bandied around by her inlaws (I can understand they are feeling shocked and upset, and things get said in the heat of the moment), however, things have settled a bit.

I believe that it is not wise for family to jump in and stir things up as that can cause more trouble than is needed. The best thing anyone can do, if a close family member is going through relationship difficulties, is offer a willing ear to listen and an open door for them to come if they need any practical help or support, but ultimately the couple concerned have to work things out for themselves.
DD says she and her DH have reached a mutual understanding, and are talking amicably at present. I am hopeful there may be a reconciliation and they will stay together, but I am not counting chickens. We shall see.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings, on with the NSD quest!
