How to make money to pay for my college course?

You dont need to be an enrolled student to get financial advice!
I am enrolling this autumn and have had an appointment last week with their advisor to talk about what Im entitled to! This is the perfect time to speak to someone at the college and apply for all you can! Of course they dont expect you to enrol before getting advice!
Im sorry no one has come up with a miracle as to how to make money, we have given you our advice and suggestions but unfortunately its not what you want to hear. Unfortunately raising money is not as easy as clicking your fingers, if only it was. And being 16 makes it harder as your unable to obtain credit and limited to certain jobs.
THIS is why we are urging you to take professional advice from your college so that you can be sure you and your parents are getting all your entitled to for your education. There are many little known grants and funds that require you to apply at the time you enrol to be a student, before you start classes.
Can I ask what college you are hoping to go to?Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 20130 -
right hang on. Just to proove you didn't listen/read w/e,
I'm 17.
I have asked for ideas not advice on CBR checks & the fact that i shouldn't be paying.
I have heard what you lot are saying & im sorry what i have been told is different to what you think is right.
i'm not trying to rude or nasty - im frustrated of saying the same thing over, hearing the same thing over which is completely different to waht i have been told. I'm frustrated because everyone apart from the few isn't listening.

Thank you.
Yip I read perfectly well thank you, you are STILL 16!
Have you actually looked at this website?

Have you applied for 16-19 Bursary Fund?
Students from low income households can apply to the 16-19 Bursary Scheme. Through this scheme it may be possible to get help with course-related costs and travel to and from College.
If you are a from a low income household you could get help with course costs such as:- Equipment
- Books
- CRB
- Kits
- Travel*
* If you travel by bus and live more than three miles from your centre of study you could get a free bus pass
Or Learner Support Fund?
The Learner Support Fund is available to assist you with the costs associated with learning, such as books, equipment, essential field trips, travel, and CRB checks. Some students may also get help with childcare costs through this scheme.
Funds are limited and we recommend students apply early during the summer holiday. We cannot guarantee to help every student, but we will advise you of alternative funding sources if any are available.
Please note
For courses starting from September 2011 the fund is now open and we are accepting applications.
There are numbers on there to contact Welfare and Financial Support team, throughout the year not just at term time.Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 20130 -
I may be wasting my time trying to get you to actually check your receiving all you can, its quite frustrating! I met last week with an advisor who said there was nothing I am entitled to since my partner earns £23000 a year despite me being unemployed, and for me to undertake 2 evening classes it would cost me £680 EACH course, payable up front! Thats for 2 courses that are 3 hours per week! Which means I cant go and get the very last qualifications I need to get onto my dream midwifery degree course. So when you are being so obtuse enough to not speak to a college financial advisor and make sure your getting all you can, I cant give you any other advice! There is no magic tricks to conjure up £200 in 6 weeks other than what other kind people have suggested...babysitting, dog walking, selling on Ebay, Car boot sales, part time jobs. By making you aware of other avenues and making sure you know legislation regarding CRB's etc people are trying to make sure you are not paying out for things you shouldnt be!Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 20130

Assuming that this is the site where you'll be studying, their website shows that they certainly do have a Welfare and Financial Support Team who should be able to advise you.

They also give information about the 16-19 Bursary Scheme

You can do survey's on sites in exchange for Amazon vouchers (good for books) or cash. You have to put in a bit of work to find the best sites and answer the survey's but you can make some money out of it. Valued Opinions is a good place to start.
Are there any old people at your church that have trouble getting around? I used to get a bit of money by going and getting people's shopping/picking up prescriptions when I was a bit younger than you. It's not very much money - maybe £5 or so if your lucky - but it is a start. You can take the bus if the shops are too fair to walk and one of those little 'granny' tolleys means you can carry a lot of shopping without a car. In the same way you can ask around if they have any odd jobs that need to be done. Some old people struggle with things like painting and gardening and will give you a few £ to help out.
I'm sorry you feel no one is giving you ideas, lots of people have pointed you in some directions to explore.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -
People have given you plenty of ideas: get a job, sell things, offer to do odd-jobs for people, go to the college finance office to make sure you understand what you are/aren't entitled to, etc, etc.
But the only ideas you seem to want are ones that will give you the money on a plate with the least amount of effort. You attitude towards those who have taken the time to offer suggestions (whether you like them or not) is really not helping your case.0 -

You want ideas on how to make money? There's 2 things that instantly spring to mind.
1 - Sell some of your things. Own anything of value that you can live without? Sell it. If the course is more important you that is. I'd hazard a guess that you won't want to do this.
2 - When I was a similar age to yourself I walked into my local (well, 3 miles away) McDonalds and filled out an application form. I started the next day. They usually have quite a high staff turnover because students come and go regularly. Have you thought about applying to one of their stores? You'll have your £200 before you can bat an eyelid.0 -
