If you come from a low income family your parents will receive over £70 per week fro the government to support you while you remain in education. They don't necessarily have to give you an allowance but they should be responsible for your education costs.
I am a self employed Nanny and I got my own crb check.
A single person can in fact get a disclosure (crb check) and most people paying for their children to be babysat will look for one nowadays, as well as first aid.
If OP is doing a childcare course the college should pay for one anyway as you cannot take the course without one.Baby Numner 4 due 7th May 2016:dance:

I've got to pay £50 for one in college but the church also needs to do one anyway.
I've asked the college if i can use the one from church but they said I got to have another one
because i might have lied or got someone to do it for me.
Any ideas on how to make some money?£11.01/ £1000 -

That may be the case in Scotland (I don't know) but it certainly isn't so in England.

"Who can ask for a criminal record check?
If the job needs a criminal record check any employer can ask for one. However, only organisations registered with the CRB can submit applications for criminal records checks.
There are two types of registered organisation:
a registered body - the employer
an umbrella body - a registered body that processes criminal record checks for non-registered organisations
Applying for a criminal records check
Can you apply for your own criminal record check?
The self-employed or individuals can’t legally apply for a criminal record check on themselves."
As a qualified nanny, you'll be paid premium rates for babysitting and checks may be asked for, just as you'll be declaring your income for tax. This is a different situation entirely for a teenage student babysitting for friends and neighbours, who'll be paid far less anyway.
ETA. The situation is obviously different in Scotland where you do seem to be able to apply for a basic disclosure as an individual.

I haven't even seen that money. o.o
The money is given them to support you in your education, not to pay everybody's normal household bills. This should be used to cover your college costs, travel etc. If you left education they wouldn't get this money.0 -
You will not be paying for your course at college. It is further education and you are under 19. I presume you mean a CACHE Diploma or similar. You will not have to pay for tuition or exam fees. Not quite sure why you need a college fund - we are not in America!! Our education, fortunately, is free up to year 13.
If your church requires a CRB then they should pay (possibly asking for a small donation from you). When you start your college course, you should also get a free or reduced rate CRB. My daughter did the CACHE Diploma, I did the BTEC Health & Social Care - neither of us paid "full" price for it (I think it was about £30).
I suggest you ask your parents for the money - they are probably getting it for you still. If they are not then that means they are earning too much money to qualify and should be able to give you some anyway!! £30 is a couple of weeks child benefit.0 -
No , its a BTEC early years education course and i have to pay £200 for course fees. 2+ books at £30 each, £50 for another CBR check,£15 t-shirt etc....
The church would be paying for it as they need it for me.i just need/would like a CBR check incase i need proof that I am honest and reliable.
My parents need that money more then i need college i guess.
I wish to be more financially independent though.
I don't live in scotland, I live in bristol.£11.01/ £1000 -
You will not have to pay for tuition and course fees because you it is further education and you are under 19!!!
Books - only one usually needed in the first year and you can probably borrow this from the library.
Shirt - yes you may need if you are on placement but many places don't worry if you are not wearing it.
As stated about - you cannot just get a CRB - someone has to apply for it for you. It does not mean you are honest and reliable - it just means you have not been convicted of doing anything wrong!!0 -
i need to pay - i dont pay for the teachers i pay for equitment needed.
i need to buy at least 2 books to do coursework & class work.
i wont be allowed in placemet without one
i can just get a cbr check,as church needs one anyway because soon i might be on the team & working with them!!£11.01/ £1000 -
A CRB is valid only for the organisation in which it has been produced for - my husband works for the company. This is why every company who needs one will arrange one for themselves. A CRB will only show that you have not been convicted for any crimes esp in relation to children.
Most organisations will pay for the fee for this CRB and most colleges and Universities will definatly pay for them.
If you are in a situation which would require first aid anyone who even had a qualification would phone 999 and instructions would be given over the phone to assist you and an ambulance would be sent as a priority with a child.
If you are active in your church how about asking them to sponser you in a bike ride but remember to inform them the money raised is to help you attend college not for a charity, or you could bake biscuits or cakes and sell them at the back of church after a service to help raise money.
Lastley if you wish to babysit advertise in your church as I imagine you already know the parents and instead of a crb get the vicar or leader of the childrens club to write you a reference saying you are of good character.0 -
Books can be bought used or borrowed from the library. You will find that you use them less than you may think. Your college library will have multiple copies whilst your local library may only have 1 or 2.
CRB - college will usually pay - check this.
Check out your college's hardship or access to learning fund.
T-shirt - I've never heard of a college specifying that you need a t-shirt/sweatshirt. If it is absolutely required speak to your course leader or the finance department about setting up an account to pay say £1 a week.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0
