  • Hello all,

To give my perspective on the inactive Olympians issue...

If I dont hear from someone one week, but they have PM'd me their total before, then I carry their total over, which often happens. So any blank spaces on the individual totals on the newsletter, are those that haven't submitted anything since the start.

A few people have responded to my group PM. Between 5 and 10 people have dropped out since the start, and been removed from the paperwork, although I dont publish this as they all have their reasons, and I imagine would love to take part... they just can't right now. I always offer them the option to return, and have convinced a couple to stay and take part, albeit on the understanding that nobody HAS to submit a total every week, nor does it really matter if they dont make the Bronze amount.

For those who were disappointed with our grand total compared to our grand target, I can work out a revised amount based on only those that have submitted their total at least once since the beginning of the challenge. That would make it a little more realistic and optimistic.

In terms of my workload for those not submitting at all, its minimal. It takes me more time to process a total, than to process no total!

I dont really mind either way, but if the general consensus is that COMPLETELY inactive members should be removed, then that can be done. I would suggest that, in the interests of fairness, an individual PM is sent first. If no response follows within, say, two weeks, then they can be removed.

    Thoughts?

This seems very sensible. Wouldn't want to discourage anyone who still wants to be involved but there are probably some who have forgotten they signed up! ;)
  • Its not the total that bothers me, it would just be nice to know who is still taking part thats all
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!

jet if you use turbo lister which you have to download you can list everything ready but then on whatever day you wish your listings to start you have to click upload to ebay but then it only takes a minute rather than hours

i tend to add to turbo lister all week when i get chance then usually on a sunday just upload everything to ebay

no scheduled fees etc and just costs the same price as normal ebay still have to be around at the time of listing but only for a minute once everything is ready to list

    debs
thanks for the info I have to admit the prospect of listing all my stuff on tuesday was putting me off but now I can spread it out over the next couple of days.

  • I am still trying for my bronze challenge, but is it ok if I submit my totals at the end of each month. for me its a bit like when I lose weight if I keep looking at the figures they never seem to go up (cash wise) quick enough for me! and the other way round for the weight never seems to go down even when I am trying like mad lol.

  • this challenge must be getting to me, i was lying in bed and got a fright that i had forgotten to send my week 6 total then i realised it was only sat night  :rotfl:

we had to reduce our total by 175 as two ebay items were bought by the same person who never turned up to collect them, then got abusive by email

but found 140 in a dormant account and got a refund of 82 from aol. :j they were cheekily still taking a monthly payment as they never cancelled our broadband properly.

wow ruthiejane, just read your signature you have done really well in reducing your debt!!
Thanks. It was really helped my moving in with my lovely boyfriend who won't let me help pay the bills until my debt has gone. He's paid off the mortgage so we don't have a huge amount of outgoings.
