  • I'm looking for one member to appear in our newsletter. It will involve me emailing/PM'ing you some questions, which you'll need to send back fairly quickly today, with a small photo of you (or something about you - a pet or child perhaps), all of which will be published in the newsletter. PM me if you're interested. First come, first served.

Well I still havn't managed to do any selling yet but have now taken the laptop to the service centre and should be able to get cracking with ebaying next week sometime. Other than finding 40p under the sofa cushions I also have, £1.17 from bread and muffins which my sister picked up for me and wouldnt accept the cash. £19.54 refund from two duplicate cd's bought as Christmas presents.£129.86 from matched betting over the weekend, and also a £23.06 saving from a DIY dryer repair, although this was really unexpected outgoings so dont think this should count. Overall not a bad week thanks to the matched betting.

    Debt-free and Proud!
that would require me to have £350+ in my betfair account though wouldn't it?
seeing as i can't really put that much into betfair in the moment, could i do bets on odds at 2/3 to get back part of the £50? how much would i get?
sorry for all the questions, i'm just a bit confused.
Yes - that is the downside of SNR bets - you do need a lot in Betfair to cover it - but hopefully not for long. Depending on whether you will be able to cover higher odds later you could leave the freebie there (I think it is likely to have a month or so before it expires). Or go for as high odds as you can afford. For example - a match like 4/4.2 would give you £34.34 back and need about £150 in Betfair. A close match around 2 would give you about £25 back.
    Hope that helps.

  • Get outside help, but not from friends and family. I've never smoked, but have tried to help friends give up.... it usually ends up me being angry when they slip up. And that does more damage than it does good.

Perhaps if you put, say, half the money towards a treat, so that as well as working towards debt reduction, you know that you can, say, buy those nice shoes you've been eyeing up for the past 6 months!

LOL love the suggestion of shoes WOA! If only you knew how many pairs I already had!!!! Typical girlie :rotfl: Good idea though, might go for that - means I actually have something to show for it aside from a smaller credit card statement!!! I'll go for either a bike so I can ride with the kids instead of trying to keep up on foot, a new bed or a new shower...or all 3 that would be an acheivement!

I reckon that we could have our first MSE invention there - a bed where you have some bike pedals to cycle on. If you stop cycling, it tips a bucket of water over your head.

  • Have just looked through the web and I need about £600 to do all 3. Reckon I should do it in under a year so wont get it all done for the end of this challenge but should get 1 or 2 of them.
Off to update my sig now with my challenge!! Ooh if I get most of it done in time for this challenge I've pretty much hit gold!! :j
  • You're not allowed to start smoking again when you've bought them tho!

  • I doubt (or at least hope!) I wont want to! When I've hit them I'll just have to find something else to aim for!!
