Hi all, hopeing for some advice.
Will the hotel prices in Vegas be horrendous over Labour Day weekend ?
I've got the chance to go from 30th Aug to 4th September and I can't really change these days (its a long story but I've won flights to Philadelphia for those dates and fancy going on to vegas which I've always dreamed of visiting).
So my flights are free but just noticed in my diary that its labour day weekend (think its called that!), so will the cost be extortionate ?
And will it be best to book early or wait until last minute knowing that the whole of America will be prob be going on holiday that weekend !
Cheers

Book early and book direct with the hotel so that if the price does go down they will match it.
If you want to find out what the prices are going to be, just go on to a few hotel's websites.0 -

Yes because Vegas (american) hotels will only take the first night as a deposit which is returnable if you cancel up to 24 hours before your stay.
All you need to to do is call them and ask them to reduce your rate, if they dont (But they will), just cancel and rebook at the lower rate0 -
Ooh thanks photome !
I'll book ASAP then - we're staying over Labour day weekend and I'm worried places might be booked up as it gets nearer the end of August, I've got nothing to lose by booking now.
Just need to decide which hotel to stay in !
Looking for a hotel on the strip which has a good outdoor pool - can anyone recommend one ? Or are you able to use the pools at other hotels ?0 -

I would just be a bit more cautious on this..
While most hotels will have a zero fee for cancelling 24hrs before your stay, you will find that quite a few hotels will NOT refund the deposit, especially if its an accommodation "special" or "promotion".0 -
Mandalay Bay resort Beach Las Vegas Pools.
The sun. The sand. The waves. The Beach at Mandalay Bay is not your typical Las Vegas Pool. Feel the glow of the sun against your skin at our lush, 11-acre tropical sand beach. Catch a wave in our famous wave pool, swim in one of our four exotic pools or relax with a leisurely float down the lazy river. It's no wonder Mandalay Bay has been named the number one beach in Las Vegas for seven years running.

Sorry if I have given wrong info, but in my experience of booking hotels in Vegas, most of them on specials from fatwallet or lasvegastalk etc. I have found them to offer the zero fee for cancelling, but not if you go through a third party.
My experience is limited to about a dozen hotels over 5 trips0
