Not from Maxjet they wont. Hope they paid by credit card.

Im gonna be toast as I recommended them to my friends for their anniversary in February on the £600 return deal......not looking such a bargain now.

  • Well - the message from Maxjet when you ring mentions a refund back onto your credit card, but I have contacted my credit card people anyway.

It's a bummer as we were due to travel on the 10th january - at least we were staying with friends so no accomodation fees to worry about.

Oh well - it's a shame as we flew to New York with them last year and it was great value for money!

    Merry Christmas anyway.
NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........

yeah, not the Christmas present we were hoping for - checked email this morning for the message from MaxJet.

Weren't due to fly until Easter-time so wasn't dire for us, but we rebooked on Virgin (PE using M+M) first thing as we figure that loads of people will be doing the same once they start checking email after the holiday is over. Had to shift our dates (so no longer flying out the same day as photome) but should be OK. So sad about the whole flying from Stansted thing as that would have been fabulous for us.

But as we paid by CC we should be OK for a refund - fingers crossed.

Just need to cancel and rebook hotels but waiting until later in the week to do that.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Good to hear you have another flight sorted (thought you were going with maxjet), hope you get your money back with no problems.

just arrived back this morning from 3 nights at Mandalay Bay

    weather around 6/7 degrees

Virgin flight back (xmas day) only had 74 people on board, so lots of room to spread out and get some sleep... :)

I know! We could have stuck with our original dates but fares were about £150 each more, so we shifted them around.

Rebooked hotels today and Harrah's has changed their reservations system for total rewards members so we lost out a bit - rather than 9 nights comped we have to pay casino rate for the last 4...but $225 for 9 nights in Vegas is nothing to complain about. :)

Have tried to call our CC company (Post Office) but closed today...fingers crossed for tomorrow...at least feel lucky that we're not relying on the refund to pay for the new flights, but sure would be nice to have the cash back quickly.

Hope that all goes well for Stoneman as saw in that other thread that he's one of the ones currently in Vegas via MaxJet.

aaand the people we have to speak to at the Post Office CC aren't back until 2nd Jan.

I do think this is a fabulous card in terms of the exchange rate they give you - but their customer service is complete rubbish. Not the first time I've had an issue with them in terms of customer service either.

But anyway, hope that Stoneman and PandaPants both make it home OK and with minimal hassle though I can imagine that being unable to get any info is completely frustrating and not what you need on holiday. I acknowledge that my situation re how to get a refund is much better than their situations being in transit!
