Hi – any help would be greatly appreciated.
Two people wanting to fly from Manchester to Vegas on Sunday 29 June 2007 returning on Sunday 13 July 2007 – 14 nights total BUT only want to pay a deposit now JUST IN CASE WE CANT ACTUALLY GO!!!
Sounds silly I know – but this way if we do go the flights are sorted.
Last year I did this with Airtours – balance payable six weeks before departure – wasn’t a great fan on My Travel due to stop over in Glasgow, but you cant have it all can you?…..
I have done my own searches and My Travel are around £1,100 for two (£150 deposit), BMI – are £940 – but you have to pay in full at mo…
Does anyone have any ideas?
PS – I have posted this on Vegas Thread & general on purpose – hoping to get advice from both groups of readers…
Thanks.
If you get a flight and only pay a deposit,( sorry dont know who does that) you may ending up paying more as the price will not be gaurenteed0 -
If you book any type of package you will only need to pay a deposit (packages to Vegas are not recomended on here because they are nearly always more expensive that a diy option)

Thanks photome - I would never book a package to Vegas - there are too many deals to be had on the DIY option.
Last year I paid a deposit on a MyTravel flight only to Vegas (Deposit £150) which secured/guaranteed the price of £780 ish for two - I had to pay the balance 56 days before flying. Had I waited and booked the flight during those 56 days it would have cost me > £1k for the same flights, so I did actually save a little bit of money AND MOST IMPORTANTLY - If I was unable to go I could have cancelled 56 days before departure and not had to pay the balance.
I have to say - MyTravel are the only operator that I could find which allowed me to do this - I just wondered if anyone else had done this with a different company. I fancy the direct BMI flights out of Manchester for around £950 (in June/July thats pretty darn good) BUT I dont want to pay in full for them now in case I cant go....... I may try a travel agent to see if they can do it - but Im not holding my breath.... Thanks for advice. Fingers crossed....:hello:My name is Steff and I am a Vegas Addict :j0 -
Hi, going to Vegas on the 28th-31st October, already booked our room at the Flamingo thanks to good advice on here. I was wondering where is the best place to book a helicopter ride to the grand canyon? I assume i'll have to do it online before I go as you have to book it so far in advance, can anyone recommend me a good site?0

Another vote for Papillon. We did the south rim tour, flight, bus + helicopter.. a long day but unforgettable.. awesome.
BTW - I was told to avoid the skywalk and surrounding area as it's not the canyon at it's most scenic0 -

Need some help guys. I'm currently looking at some Grand Canyon Helicopter flights and have followed the recommendations given in post #1005 here.
Anyway I was looking at the helicopter and ranch adventure found on the HeliUSA website http://www.heliusa.com/tour-grand-canyon-helicopter-flight-g09.htm. This costs $384pp including all taxes.
Now i've also looked at other websites and have found the exact same package as the HeliUSA one but for less. Even the photographs show are the exact ones found on the HeliUSA site.
The websites in question are Viator http://www.viator.com/tours/Las-Vegas/Grand-Canyon-Helicopter-and-Ranch-Adventure/d684-3422_G09 , which costs $300pp for my travel dates and Las Vegas Grand Canyon Tours http://www.lasvegasgrandcanyontour.com/helicopter/grand-canyon-ranch-adventure.htm, which costs $285pp.
Will this be the same tour operator where Viator and Las Vegas Gran Canyon tours are just middlemen selling on behalf of the tour operator or do you suspect them to be using someone different?
thanks for that.
were going to vegas tomorrow.just booked trip with viator so will let you know how it goes:beer:0 -
hi guys :hello: i made it back from New England in one piece ,
and i,m just waiting to go pick my kitty cat up , before maybe getting some sleep ( i,ve been awake about 25 hours now after flying Boston to Washington DC to Heathrow) .so will take me a little while to catch up on everything.
have had a Fantastic time , and it certainly was a very different type of holiday to Vegas.we never got to Grafton notch though wdyw we got side tracked and missed it unfortunaly
i have a few bits of tips that maybe revlevent to Vegas .
1st is how cheap everything is with a $2 - £1 exchange rate. using our Nationwide Debit card to withdraw cash from ATM's we got a rate of $2.03 on cash withdrawals. if you haven't yet got one , i would look into it if your planning a trip.
it also puts into sharp focus how bad rip off Britain is. i've picked up brand new Timberland footware for £15 a pair. new ralph lauren jeans for just over £10 a pair , and more t shirts, trinkets, xmas presents than i can count. we had to buy a new bag to get it all back over here, a new but end of season Samsonite for the crazy price of $20 !!!!. our hire car SUV cost $30 to fill from empty !!! i cannot wait to get back to paying double that to fill my crappy Fiesta , Mr Brown    , what is Mr Browns allowance on bringing stuff back again? :rolleyes2  :rotfl: :A
we have come back with over £600 quid from our spending budget, and we were certainly not dining in the cheapest places or missing out on anything we wanted to do..
2nd ...US Airways are pretty bog standard airline from my experiance on our outward flights . delaying us 5 hours in total with very average service ect.
United coming back were far far better.
also if you are planning on Buying a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue from US Airways in flight duty free get in quick as they only carry one bottle , which not surprisingly was snapped up quickly at $120 before i could swoop  .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

I'm no expert. I've only been to Vegas once and I'm sure one of the regulars will be along soon, but I found it was always cheaper to book seperately.
Have you thought about a cheap filght from Belfast and then flying direct on Virgin miles+money perhaps? I think I'd prefer to fly direct than faff around with a change.
You can normally book the best hotel deal now and then cancel nearer the time if you find a better one.
If any of this is incorrect I'm sure somebody will correct me. HTH.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0
