Have a nice trip, Trets - one part of the US I have always wanted to visit - I am jealous! :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
  • Enjoy your trip Trets!

Thanks to everyone for a really interesting thread.
We have booked for 7-12 November so to attend the Nellis Airshow on 10/11 November.
Interestingly there are three of us travelling (39/40/45 all males) and I wondered if anyone had any feedback on what type of accommodation we could get away with bearing in mind we are on a budget!
We are two brothers and a friend and sharing a room is not a problem but a concern is how hotels view this type of arrangement.:naughty:
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Thanks
The snotty check-in guy refused us a rollaway bed by quoting fire regulations. So we just tipped housekeeping directly to get the bed.
  • Hello All,
I'm new here and am going to Veags next March 2008 (hopefully 15-22, but can be flexible a couple of days either side). Is it best to book flights now or should I wait til later (eg are there any January sales on Vegas flights??). Sorry if this has been covered before

I am going march 20th paid £280 for a miles plus money fare, booked in April, which I find is the best time.

Best bet now is to keep looking on a daily basis, but most Virgin flights to Vegas fill up dont know about other airlines as I like to go from london and non stop.

So are we! Though we splurged on MaxJet because we really, really wanted to try it. :)

gerry_r - Vegas is a popular route for Virgin so it's less likely that a sale will pop up for them. Last time I saw a really good sale for Virgin flights to Vegas was right after the whole liquids on the planes, potential terror plot thing...right after there were great deals to be had. I don't think you will ever see a fare less than the £280 miles + money fare assuming flights from London...so if you can use existing miles or buy miles to get the fare, that's probably your best option.
