Like to hear of anyones thoughts on this?
Don't sign up with them if you've already got ADSL.
I joined there one-phone-bill (phone calls and line rental service) option which is suposed to made no difference to your line, services etc., and they cut off my existing ADSL service. I'm in-dispute with them. I've sent 3 letters of complaint and they just send a standard reply letter back. I've made 15 phone calls (no exageration, thats ATLEAST 15 phone calls) to them, with no resolution in-insite. I've complained to various sorts of organisations.

Was wondering if you could help me with this - I'm trying to order BT broadband 2mb for £24.99 a month, on £50 cash back offer via https://www.metro.co.uk - but I just can't get it to work and the offer ends today - 27th Feb. Any advices.
The error I get is as below - but the "call me back now" feature does not work!
Thanks in advance!

Error:
My broadband order today 27th Feb failed with the error below. I was ordering because of the £50 cash back via https://www.metro.co.uk. Your website should let me order but it doesn't - please help me get my order & cashback.
Error is this:
"BT phone number: NNNNNNNNN
We're pleased to confirm that BT Broadband is available to you. Unfortunately, you can't order it online but it's easy to order BT Broadband over the phone - please contact us using the Call me or Text Chat buttons below."
Just clicked on the metro link and the offer expires 11th March.0 -
I'm with Metronet, and 100% satisfied, but if I weren't, I'd try these people, they look to be a very good bet:

Pipex have NO customer service whatsoever, they DO however have VERY LONG waits on the telephone queueing system.
After 2 years with Pipex I am moving on, rather than keep me on, they said I would get a better offer if I left, and signed back up with them.
Be warned - check out https://www.adslguide.org
Pipex may be slightly cheaper than some (not all) but they have no incentives for customer retention and very poor customer service.

Im looking into Broadband and see that NTL now offer 1MB at £17.99 (first month free), this is faster than AOLs offer although they do have download restrictions, is this recommended or can you advise as to any other better offers, seeing as though I already have NTL TV and dial up I thought this would be easier.0

just now switched from metronet to EFH.
metronet were good, with good support but i was always reaching the max limit so was paying £23 each month.
it cost £30 to move, but with EFH at £11.75(no limits) after 3 months i will then be saving.0 -
Can this one be beaten? Remember dear old MADASAFISH?
They're still going, at https://www.madasafish.com. Currently offering, both for £17.99/month, either 2Mb speed with a 2Gb download limit, or 1Mb speed with no download limit. Whichever you choose you get the first two months free. £17.99 over 10 months is the same as £14.99/month over 12. Plus all the extras are free (modem, connection etc).
Pretty impressive, non? Contract's 12 months admittedly, but if you're an existing B'band user you know you could never be without it now anyway, right!0 -
When I just called Virgin, my current B'Band service provider, for a MAC (Migration Authorisation Code) so I could migrate to Madasafish, I was asked to phone a special dept to get the MAC code.
Just as with mobile phone companies, the number turned out to be a special Retentions dept who, when I told the guy where I was going and why, offered to up my speed immediately from 512Kbs to 1Mb for no extra charge. As I'm on the £17.99 service with the 3Gb d'load cap I decided to accept. I know it still isn't as good as the 2Mbs deal from Madasafish with the 2 months free (which turned out to be 3 months free when I started to look deeper into actually signing up!) for the same sub, but I reasoned the following:
Speed difference currently, in effect, between 1Mb and 2Mbs is marginal, as most sites can't upload at 2Mbs yet anyway, allegedly. Also, this way I get to keep my existing e-mail settings etc. Can always still migrate later if competitors continue to reduce prices while improving speeds.
If anyone out there does decide to try any of the Madasafish intro deals, be interesting to get your feedback on service quality and ease of set up.0 -
The madasafish broadband looks like the 17.99 unlimited dowanload offer is only for 256k. The 512k is 23.99 which with 2 months off equates to 19.99. So pretty much standard as I see it.0

madasafish are part of the brightview group (freenetname, totalise, global, ic24, dialstart and several others)
frequently one of those names does a 'special' (in terms of price) that the others don't.
speeds on their network are usually fairly good - the main complaint people have about them is all technical support and customer service is an Indian call centre (in common with many other companies).
nothing special about that price as has already been mentioned.0
