so what's the cheapest (with reasonable customer service), uncapped, 1mbps service which doesn't tie you in for 12 months?0

Gio Internet have been mentioned a couple of times on this thread. There appear to be 'issues' with them, see this news item on adslguide.

Someone I know has just signed up, but can't get it to work so they asked me to have a look.
Has anyone any information about this service as I had never heard of them before?

I have just migrated from BTYahoo to Freedom2Surf and all has progressed well...no hiccups yet.
F2S has now announced an improved deal of a 2Mb speed for only £14.99 per month....excellent value and I will shortly be upgrading to this.
BT £26.99 for 512
F2S £14.99 for 2048

Having just ended my 12-month 512k BT broadband contract, I had decided to change provider. When I rang BT to cancel and was asked if there was any particular reason, I told the nice lady about the Wannado package.
To cut a long story short, we haggled a bit and I now have no fixed contract and I'll be billed £18.75 a month, incl. VAT, for each of the next 4 months.
OK, so it's still not the cheapest but I keep my email address, save the hassle associated with switching ISP - and save a few quid.0 -
FIGHT AGAINST PAYING FOR THE INTERNET PREMIUM RATE SCAM
The site https://www.premiumratescam.co.uk gives us all hope against BT.
I am convinced it is quite genuine and looks rather impressive to me.DBF are entirely reputable and for any lawyer to succeed they must be paid.My experience of something for nothing is not good and a good job comes at a price.Well done to them for investing in andputing the action together.
