hi...guys.... i dont want to do their diet lol.... but i do want to increase our family's intake of diff fruit and veg......
as i must admit some days... we might only have 1 portion of fruit or veg....
as if i remember rightly.... from when my m.i.l had her heart attack...the dietian said you dont include potatoes in the five a day....
we were all like little cheeky monkeys last night watching t.v. for our munchies.. we were ALL eating fruit..:DWork to live= not live to work0 -
CTC - you may be getting more than one portion a day most days and even if you're not, it's easy to increase your number.
Fruit juice - 1 portion (no matter how much you drink)
Pulses/beans - also only counts as 1 portion
Any veg in a meal you are eating ie bol sauce contains tomatoes, onion, mushrooms, veg in a stew
Potatos (likewise yams and cassava) don't count because they are a starchy food - also important, but not as 1 of your 5 a day

Don't listen to people disparaging olives--they're wonderful! I didn't see the show, but I could easily eat a diet with loads of olives in it. I don't know if the ones I've had are raw or cooked, but they are still very good, especially the ones with various herbs and spices added.0 -

I agree - you have to try various foods to see if YOU like them. Mr TM loves olives, but I hate them. He hates celery and cucumber, yet I adore celery and whilst not my fave, can happily eat cucumber0 -

Noooo, that's sooooo untrue!
Try big juicy kalamata olives in extra vitgin olive oil.
DON'T try olives in brine (yuk, yuk, yuk, that's what gives olives a bad name,)
Olives, warm ciabatta, olive oil and salt....heaven.

I love olives, we have a lovely stall in the farmers market that sells nothing but olives marinated in different things. They are delicious.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
