Sounds interesting will watch it
Wish I still had a video recorder sometimes
Becs38 sounds interesting taking part in something like that.
One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Watched this evening, it was very good. Apparently raw fruit and veg is best. Garlic can help erection problems. A natural proboitic meal is better than the yoghurt with it added.
Interesting and I learnt something from it.0 -
I missed it, but sounds like the message is 'eat real food, not marketing gimmicks', but then. I knew that already
I've always been sceptical about the need to drink so much water. I've tried it, it didn't make me feel any better, but it did mean I spent a lot of my day going to the loo :rolleyes:0 -
well i must admit.... even though it said what most of us know.....
i did find it really interesting..... and they done it in a simplistic way... which the kids could understand..
i must admit.... i think the sales of yoghurt style health drinks and yoghurts will dip for a while after that...
so just because there is a very ever so slight increase in the good bacteria in you bola ( stomach) they go hell for leather in promoting it ........
i hope some more home truths come out over ther series...
i know i am looking for a job at mo..... but i dont think i would like to be a poo analylist:eek:Work to live= not live to work0 -
Watched this programme last night too, and it was good.
I know we should all be eating more fruit and veg and I for one will try, but not sure about the raw veg. It does seem to have great benefits so I am going to give it a try at weekend (not too much though). I love broccoli and cauliflower but have never tried them uncooked.:hello: Never say Never :smileyhea0 -
Watched this too......... very interesting, but I agree we all know what we shouuld be eating don't we?
I have never been persuaded by the bio/yoghurt drinks con...... for heavens sake, how did the human race survive without them??? It was interesting to have the reason why your good bacteria multiply with a goot diet though.
12 months ago I began the SW diet and lost 4st on mostly 'green' days. In fact I omitted most meat and all bread for a couple of months and I felt great. Have recently slipped off the wagon and a stone has gone back on... so the programme has been a wake up call.
Just wonder why they didn't touch on what regular garlic does for the other half of the population though....0 -
I watched this programme last night and it mostly confirmed what I already knew, especially about those pro-biotic drinks, a ploy to wean cash out of your purse thinking that they are essential for health........
We eat a fair amount of fruit and veg and I do add raw cauli and grated carrot to salad, we tend to eat broccoli cooked......and love jacket spuds, what we really need to do is cut down on the meat we eat..............
Fish is another problem, OH does not like mackeral, I can only eat salmon cold.......however we do take a high strength cod liver oil capsule each daily, I get them from Holland and Barrett when they are on special, buy years supply at a time. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
sounds as though this was really interesting ....sad I missed it. Have gleaned a lt of what was said on the programme from the posts but can anyone summarise all the main points for me....
Is it a regular programme or a one off? is it going to be repeated? We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -

Did anyone manage to catch how much fruit and veg they were eating on the Evolution diet? In the Radio Times article about the programme it says "five kilos of raw fruit and veg per day". I am having trouble picturing what that would look like, and am also wondering how long it would take to chew and swallow that much, to say nothing of the loo trips! It isn't exactly practical for daily living is it?0
