How did the race go, Seaxwyn - I was thinking of you!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Thanks Hypno! It went fine, I completed the three miles in 29 minutes and did not come last. I feel mighty chuffed to have done it. Foolishly I have now agreed to do another race in the new year, and my friend who I ran with is trying to talk me into running 10k.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Well done you! You must have felt very pleased with yourself. 3 miles in under half an hour is pretty good!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Hi Seaxwyn
I can't understand why I haven't been reading your diaryjust read back over the last four pages or so, and I'll read more later. What you've been going through!!! The race sounds great, feel sorry for DS with that awfu infection, and poor little DD feeling sad. Your dad sounds like an absolute star, tho, thats brilliant.
I've ended up telling my mum about my debts, and also kind of how theyre made up, and her reaction was typical of how she is recently - "you don't expect me to remember all those numbers, do you?" I've not told her for the same reasons that you and hypno have mentioned, but this year she's given me/going to be giving me, a total of £5,000 - and she's giving it so I can do up the house, rewire etc. But I'm not using it for that at the mo, I'm using it to pay off debts (tho the money off the mortgage could be reclaimed to use the way she wanted me to).
The Post Office job sounds great - thats all about balance, isn't it, even tho it pays less per hour. Good for you for getting out.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hi Sea, I don't fancy the 10k. 3 miles was hard enough. There is a 5 mile race near here in May so if (big if) I keep up the running I might think about that nearer the time.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Being able to run 5 miles is a pretty good achievement - so, I would aim for that goal, and if you feel ok with that, then the 10k is only just a tiny weeny bit further for next time!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hiya sea just had a weeny catch up in between doing christmas cards!! fantastic news on the race welldone you, and you'll prob be surprised just how far you can run now so give four or five miles a go. you'll probably find it relatively easy.
Glad to hear that you are enjoying the work in the newsagents to, a change is as good as a rest as they say a,d you'll probably find that you'l return to the "home work" with renewed vigour after a break away.
Gosh lots of " probably find" ing in that post!! sorry!! xxxdebt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
Hi Seaxwyn
I haven't been on for quite awhile as work has been heavy. If you still need to get rid of those drawers, where are you located as OH is a furniture restorer and is always looking for breakers. If they are gone already that is probably better for you.
Well done on the 'gift' from your dad and with the race. Nice things do happen. I understand totally about the shop job and people contact but at present I am more at home than before as I am learning some of the less skilled parts of the furniture restoration business - the just plain slow and tedious washing, etc. It is fine and my own editing and dtp work seems to be slowing - may be Christmas, may be something else. One large client has said that they plan to do a four volume print job online only this next year so there goes a major part of the spring work. I'll need to look for something to fill it.
Anyhow, the change to furniture work is just that - a change. It is off the keyboard and in soapy water (sometimes) and it is great seeing the furniture looking better.
Hope things go well for you over the holidays and that the sickness has passed for all the family.LBM August 2005 £40,000
