Hello taxi. Thanks for popping in. I'm OK, nothing much to report. Been feeling a bit down about work but got the worst of it out of the way now and can write another invoice, which is always gratifying.

I'm mulling over whether to apply for a part-time job or stay self-employed.

And looking forward to OH's pay arriving very soon!

Hugs for the whole work situation - can't imagine how difficult it must be to weigh it all up. Would it help to list all the ads/disads on here?

I think you *know* what you want to do, and you just have to have the courage to go with that, and put your energy into focussing on making it work.

The alternative sounds like it is second best, and you have come too far for that x

Thanks Hypno. You are quite right - I know deep down that I don't want the job. So I have to find a way of transforming myself into a more efficient and productive freelance. Starting now.... or when I've had a browse of the boards...

    Thank you!

If you are not happy in the paid work, then don't take on an extension to the contract.

But you understand yourself that you need to reinvent yourself so that you are more efficient. Not that I am one to talk. I am meant to be writing the rejection letter to the insurance company and I just can't get up the energy to do it......!

I'd clean forgotten that today is possibly OH's payday! He's out at the college all day, then I'm going out to a school do this evening, so I won't know til later tonight. How exciting!

Chev, what's the latest in the oil leak saga? Write that letter! You know you can do it.

Yes, I need to transform my attitude, easier said than done but not impossible. I know I need to separate work and non-work time, and also allocate time for individual clients, instead of trying to do bits of work for all of them at the same time.

I've always been a one for new year's resolutions. In 2007 I have at least got on top of our incomings and outgoings and stopped increasing our debt. 2008 can be the year when I become a highly efficient worker.

I just received a box of different coffee, tea and hot chocolate samples from CafeDirect. Must be a freebie I ordered and forgot about it. I will go and browse the freebie board for xmas stocking fillers.

hiya Seaxwyn!! A payday!! Oooooh how exciting!! Mine tomorrow and I always get the shakes before i look on line incase something horrible has happened and it's loads less then i thought!!!

Re the getting organised, hmmmm can relate to that one!! CUrrently sitting at a desk swamped with paperwork with my laptop on top. It all makes sense to me but to anyone looking at it it's a minefield!!

Re the job, you sound as if you could do really well at your business if you kept going and got things sorted, great news that your debt isn't going up so you have organised one area of your life which is great. Make work the next one and you will be sailing.

Big hugs for now, off to do some more work. xxx

HI Seaxwyn....first things first...I hope that you get what you need off DH and that his pay goes in....
Secondly but just as important...you know that you don't want an employed position so you know that you won't be happy with that option..you are absolutely right and have given it a great deal of thought already what you have to do....and..you will achieve it...you set out not to increase your debt this year and to get on top of your incomings/outgoings...and you have certainly achieved that...that is now habit...
And I honestly believe that making that new years resolution for 2008 that you will achieve what you are setting out to do regarding your work and that will become easier as that too will become habit....it sounds like a good idea working on a time basis for each client instead of more than one at a time...like I said you've given it serious thought and you are obviously very good at your job due to the amount of clients you have......
Self employed is better for definite if you can overcome the hurdles....I'm sure you'll come to the right deciscion for you and will be happy with what you decide...take care xxx
