    I'm fine thanks!

I thought I was facing a period with not much work and got all excited about spending time planning for marketing myself etc etc then ker-blam, four jobs land in my inbox. ....

Don't you just hate it when that happens! I was the same, looking forward to an excuse for catching up with a few things while it was quiet - like sleep and my tax return - but then the e-mails started arriving (and I've got a horrible feeling I'm double booked for at least the next fortnight). I guess with the new academic year starting and holidays over there was a bit of a rush of work coming in.

Glad you sound a lot happier though!

I've had a major AAAARGH episode this week.

I've got 8k on a Virgin CC at 0% til July 09... and opened my statement to find the interest had jumped to 15%, and a £12 late payment fee and £101 interest had been applied. I was truly gutted.

I had paid the minimum payment 4 days before the due date - but in cash, so I thought it would be OK. This was all part of the mini crisis when several clients paid list and three cheques took an age to clear.

Luckily they agreed to reinstate the 0% interest as from next month, so I've only lost £113 - and got a bad shock.

It's demoralising. I've been working really hard, and it's still just as much a struggle as ever to meet the monthly outgoings. As well as this unexpected £113 this month, DD3 has brought a letter home about a residential school trip in November - cost £110. She's really keen to go, her friends are going and of course it sounds great fun. But it was meant to be happening in the summer term....

Oh well, nothing for it but to keep going.

So sorry to hear about the 0% thing but at least they gave it you back.Is it possible to set up a DD for the minimum so that it doesn't happen again.
They don't make these school trips cheap do they..I'm so glad my lot have grown up now.
Keep on plodding you'll get there I'm sure xxx

I thought about setting up a DD but I prefer to keep these to a minimum - we've got 3 different current accounts between us and we tend to pay bills out of whichever account has the money at the right time.

AAAARGH indeed! How bl...dy annoying!!!!! GRRRRR! I just managed to get an interest charge of £41.81 refunded from Halifax on my overdraft - it was actually applied before they agreed to stop interest and charges on that account - but they refunded it anyway (makes a change, doesn't it?!). What can I say! I do SO feel for you!
Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!

Thank goodness they reverted back to the 0%.

It is demoralising, though, when these things come and bite us out of the blue - that "wading through treacle" effect again.

We have a number of current accounts too - but I have now become far more strict with what goes in and out of each, and as a result we are in more control of the bills etc. Would you be able to rearrange your current accounts at all to make things a little "safer"?
